My husband and I stumbled on to Accent Cellars while vacationing in Helen, Georgia. Tyler was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He answered all of our questions and we spent two and a half hours chatting about wine and music during a rainy afternoon. I would highly recommend this lovely winery. Tyler and the winery were delightful. Thanks, Tyler!

We missed the brunch buffet due to coronvirus restrictions but the pizza and salmon salad were perfect! They found out it was our 5th anniversary and our server, Alana, and the manager were sure to bring us out a complimentary cheesecake platter with chocolate strawberries. We got to sit on the enclosed patio and look out at the beauty of the NW GA mountains.

Cavender Creek Vineyards and Winery

“We capture what the true spirit of a north Georgia winery should feel like.” Here at Cavender Creek Vineyards & Winery, we have a simple mission, to create good wines and make good friends. We are a small winery dedicated to hand-crafted wines made on-site. We are members of a close knit community that enjoys having fun, learning about wine and most importantly drinking it! Claire Livingston is a the proud owner of Cavender Creek Vineyards and Winery and those were her goals from the beginning. The winery is rustic, honest and welcoming. Cavender Creek is not a Napa Valley look alike. Everyone and everything is shown appreciation and attention at Cavender Creek Winery. We can focus on details because we are a small winery. Cavender Creek doesn’t just have a tasting room, it has a center for community and good wine. We invite you to relax with us, drink wine with us, celebrate, spend a weekend, and take things a little slower pace.

Cavender Creek is an amazing experience not just their wine, but also the grounds and the staff! We drove up from ATL to spend an afternoon on a Saturday and it was packed with visitors as well as a wedding so you may want to try a weekday if possible. The place is huge as it is an actual working farm complete with vineyards, donkeys and alpacas. There are several buildings as well as a huge outdoor field where people brought blankets to sit too. We managed to find a few stools on the patio and ordered a couple of tasting flights. Even through they were so busy the gentlemen did a great job finding us and walking us through several of their wines. I especially liked the Viognier and the Donkey Hotie (great name) and would recommend trying them. The patio was lively and there was some live music too which added to the atmosphere. They do serve some food as well, but if you just want a snack they also make amazing popcorn! Of all the wineries in the area this is one of my favorites and the staff does a great job – well worth the trip, we’ll be back.

There was a good variety of wines for those that like sweets as well as dry reds all of which we truly enjoyed. Camping up above Dahlonega and rain was the theme of the weekend. It cleared for a bit on Saturday and we found the nearby Etowah Meadery and gave it a try. It was my first taste of mead and I am now a fan. We tried just about all of their offerings between the six of us. The food truck had great wings as well, so was definitely a win. We are definitely coming back!

Kaya Vineyard & Winery

Kaya Vineyard and Winery is a rebirth of Blackstock Vineyards; located in Dahlonega, Georgia. Blackstock was one of the first and largest vineyards in the Dahlonega area (40ac). The unfortunate closing of the Blackstock winery in late 2012 paved the way for a complete renovation and re-vitalization of the property. Our future is exciting with plans that include a twenty-two hotel with restaurant, fifteen craftsman cottages, and an event facility that can seat up to three hundred making it the largest resort winery North of Atlanta. Both Kaya’s Winery and Tasting Room are built atop a ridge that is sixteen-hundred feet above elevation, and offers the most exquisite panoramic mountain views in North Georgia. Carrying over into the tasting room boasted by twelve foot windows, Edison light bulbs hanging from the ceiling, reclaimed wood, and concrete makes looking over the Appalachian Mountains a fantasy. Want to be outside enjoy the cool summer breezes on our two-thousand square-foot covered deck with live music and most importantly some wine. All of Kaya wines are made exclusively from estate grown grapes produced from our property. The Werkheiser family believes that wine is made in the vineyard, and our wines represent specific grown styles to fulfill their particular niche. Our vineyards are planted with classic European varieties as well as some from Italian and some from the Americas. All of our grapes are hand harvested and gently processed in our facility we call this the “art of wine”. Thou our techniques are meticulous and but real secret lies in the management of the vineyard, this is were Ariel shines producing wonderful fruit to turn into wine. After harvest the wine goes to the temperature and humidity controlled barrel room is the perfect environment for the slow and traditional integration of flavor and aroma between the wood and fruit. We as a team at Kaya love producing hand-crafted complex wines that cater to the serious enthusiast all the way to beginners in the trade. Our goal in the tasting room is to provide an educational experience for those with a passion to learn more about wine, and in a very relaxed, down-to-earth environment. We look forward to sharing the Kaya experience with you!

What a great day to celebrate our daughters 22nd birthday and senior year at UNG! We were fortunate to get a last minute winery tour with the owner (birthday luck!), who started our experience off with one of their brand new bottles of bubbly. The wine-tasting and was alot of fun too and the views were absolutely stunning! We will definitely be back!
