The palace is a house you can fell in love with. It's like an old castle among small white traditional portuguese houses and near to lovely white church. It is now renewed, but you can still feel a touch of old glorious times.Thank you for such kind words. You are most welcome any time you feel like an escapade

Just the right size, stunning interiors and well illustrates the layers of culture and history here. Easy to imagine the cultured nun pouring her heart out in passionate letters in the giddily decorated interiors of the convent. If you visit this museum, you can happily spend the rest of your stay by the lovely Pestana Pousada pool.

Its reassuring to see the future with large scale investment in wine production in Portugal in spite of all its economic & austerity problems .
We were taken to this very modern wine estate started in 2000,created with special regard to the Topographic , the clay ,sandy soil ,weather conditions to produce high quality grapes
It is set in 70 hectares of vineyards with magnificence views & a serenity not normal found on a wine estate . The buildings which house all the very latest equipment are set in to a hillside , careful landscaped which is deceiving when you get inside , its like a James Bond movie set .
We were meet by Anna Moreira who spoke perfect English , & looked after us for the 90 minute tour & tasting with enthusiasm,, knowledge ,& professionalism ,not normal found in guides
The final part was the tastings which was held in ultra modern hall ,which match the high standards of the wine & olive oil given as samples
Worth a definite trip to be assured that Portugal particular the Alentejo region will be producing for many years to come very high quality wine for limited consumption in Europe ,but
will exporting these high quality wines to the rest of the world , well done , full admiration to Anna & her colleagues & those all important investors

A good way of keeping Roman Beja alive (under a glass floor). Written explanations were good and there is a further display about Outeira do Circo, a late bronze age settlement near Mombeja to the north west of Beja.

Early C6 Visigothic church with carvings and columns in an excellent state of repair (one of only 4 pre-Romanesque.left in Portugal). Luckily we were staying in Beja long enough to await the reopening of the church (closed due to the ill health of a member of staff).

If you like modern art, this is a nice stop! It's in a new building of the quetzal vineyard. It was quite a big exposition. We got explanation of Noberto, one of the guys there, which helped a lot to understand the different projects.
