Cloughjordan House

Cloughjordan House is an 800 year old country house set in Co Tipperary. What began as a cookery school has now become a premium wedding venue. The cookery school was started due to Sarah Baker's passion and love of fresh and "real" food. This love of fantastically tasty local food conveys in the wedding food on offer at the venue. Cloughjordan House offers a relaxed country house party venue with the marquee seating up to 180. The romantic ballroom with it's large open fireplace is used for humanist and civil ceremonies and then comes alive after dinner for music and dancing. You can also enjoy your ceremony on the front lawn, in the forest or woodshed. There is a covered BBQ area (the Asado) where the party atmosphere can continue to make a full two or three days of fun. Cloughjordan House has accommodation for over 80 guests. At Cloughjordan House the focus is on family, friends, good quality and tasty food and a relaxed atmosphere.

Had the most wonderful time here for my daughters hen party. All health guidelines were followed and the staff were friendly and efficient. The facilities and food were amazing . The rooms in the cowshed were spotless and having the lovely huge sitting room made social distancing so easy. The breakfast the next morning was fabulous . I would love to go back and would happily recommend CJH as a venue.

Visited here while down for a hurling match. Lovely pub, great pint and atmosphere and had great bit of banter with locals. Would highly recommend and hope to call again someday.

Phil Carolls Bar

Phil Carrolls [Antique Bar]is an original pub/shop from the 1900's in Clonmel. Remaining unchanged over the years it has a unique old world atmosphere from times gone-by. Always worth a visit .

When you first walk into this bar you are not too sure - dark and atmospheric - but the bartender soon puts you at ease and has a vast variety of Irish whiskey on offer as well as gin and he pulls a good pint of Guinness of course! There was some lively Irish music being played by a group of local musicians, which we understood was a regular thing.

Our family of 5 just arrived home from a 10 day tour of Ireland where we engaged the services of Dermot O' Connor from Turas Eireann as our tour guide and private driver. Dermot educated us on so many levels...not only what to see and do, but shared many stories about the Irish people and the history of the Ireland. Having Dermot as our tour guide/driver we had the most enjoyable vacation which allowed us to sit back and absorb the Irish culture and not worry about driving on the opposite side of the road. We could also enjoy a Guinness or two at a lunch pub visit without worrying about driving to our next destination. After spending so much time with Dermot we felt like he became a member of our family and missed him when we began the final leg of our journey in Dublin where his services were not longer needed. Dermot is extremely courteous, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. We would highly recommend Dermot and Turas Eireann to anyone looking for a private escort/tour guide visiting Ireland. We rate him 5 stars out of 5 stars.
