A beautiful tasting room welcomes you as you enter but head up the stairs for a spectacular view over the vineyard and be treated to some of the most delicious food in SA. The great thing is they offer 1/2 glasses to try whilst you enjoy your meal. Better than a standard tasting in my opinion. The staff were welcoming and attentive ensuring we had a relaxed dining experience. Not to be missed but make sure you book.

We had such a great time here on our walking trail! Mel was superb and talked us through our wine tasting which we had great fun doing. We stopped here as the last winery on our walking tour. The lady who took us through the tasting was great! We didn't feel rushed, she was up for a chat and we would certainly recommend stopping in. Lovely wine and outdoor area to enjoy a glass after the tasting.

The Blok Coonawarra

Family Owned : Authentic : Coonawarra A great little family owned cellar door winery in Coonawarra. The Blok Coonawarra was established in 1998 with the Trotter family taking ownership in 2005. The Blok Coonawarra is one of the smallest in Coonawarra but don’t let our small size fool you, we pack a punch producing outstanding wines that reflect both our passion for and the terroir of the region. As well as traditional red varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, The Blok Coonawarra also produce Riesling and NV Sparkling Pinot Chardonnay. In a region dominated by red varietals The Blok Coonawarra is producing some fine examples of cool climate whites, most notably our Riesling. Stay with us! Our newly renovated vineyard house, walking distance to many fantastic cellar doors, is the perfect base to explore Coonawarra. See The Winemakers House listing at the back for further details.

Even though it was a stinking hot day 20th December, the welcome was attentive and personalised. The wine tasting was friendly and not pushy. I liked the small-scale of the winery. Came to buy Cab.Sav and walked away with fabulous Riesling as well. I made a determined effort to stop by on our way back from Melbourne, based on a previous memorable experience where we enjoyed a Ploughman's lunch and sampled the wine. Unfortunately the wines aren't available in Adelaide, only onļine. The conversation was amiable and the Wine Dog was an extra bonus.
