Visit Sugamuxi

Visit Sugamuxi is a travel guide or guidance centre (online service, plus an office in Sogamoso) into the tropical highlands of Sugamuxi, in the Department of Boyaca (Colombia). As a business we are a commercial branch of a nonprofit environmental local NGO, and have a proper legal certificate and a Tourism National Registration (RNT # 29375, as a Tourism Representing Office). Sugamuxi is a region located on the Eastern side of Colombian Andes, it is so called the Land of the Sun and it is main home and Temple of the Muisca people's ancestors, it is also the region of Lake Tota the largest lake in the country (which belogns to a paramo watershed and ecosystem), and located right in the middle of the Tota-Bijagual-Mamapacha paramo complex with nearly 170.000 Ha of potential hiking and exploration areas -with local guides, only through certain paths, and always caring these extremely important and delicate areas-. It is also a region of 13 beautiful towns barely explored by tourism, with a magnificent cultural offer and a superb landscape to enjoy exploring it. We at Visit Sugamuxi promote sustainable tourism, which means we care about protecting/conserving nature, people and its culture, and economy topics to benefit locals, and encourage visitors to get into genuine cultural interchanges by also caring about the sites and patrimony they will visit. For a complete guidance about our region Sugamuxi, please navigate our website, and once you visit us we kindly ask you to leave us a review here, or contact us directly to know about your experience and take into account all your comments for improvement. Cheers for now, and enjoy Sugamuxi!

We wandered in after finding that Mambo was closed for the day to the public because the bankers had taken it. What luck this was as we got to see 3 incredible Guache murals instead..we didn't even know these were in here but as you approach the steps you can see a whole figure staring out at you. We love his work that we've seen on the streets but these were great in another way as he has been recognised for his absolute talent by the city library. ..The scale is incredible and bought to mind the murals of Diego Rivera that we saw in Mexico.. Absolutely worth a visit if you appreciate art and the story's it can tell.
