Fascinating one hour tour with a short walk down the pit. Very informative and insightful. Couldn’t fault Richard who was our patient guide (and also a miner) - a real character with a great sense of humour. Loved it. Great cafe too.

A present for my birthday, owner driver whole day course with Dave. Took the Jeep Rubicon, and did stuff in it I’d never dream of doing. Dave’s instruction is clear, concise, and inclusive, the quarry is amazing, the severity of some of the slopes is bordering scary, and the feeling afterward is amazing. Can’t praise them enough. Go do!

Coleford Great Western Railway Museum

A Museum housed in the original G.W.R. Goods station of 1883! The Great western railway Museum is housed in one of the last remaining permanent railway buildings left in the Forest of Dean on the original site of Coleford's railway yard. Its full of local railway history and artefacts it also has a 71/4 gauge miniature railway which runs around its site for all age groups! also has a full size Peckett locomotive in the engine shed and restored signal box.

Reviewed By Y2201VRandrewb

The volunteers were very friendly and demonstrated the signal box providing a lot of interesting detail on the equipment and methods used. A trip round on the miniature steam railway and a good look round the museum - packed with items and information on the railways of the area. Good value for money. Very enjoyable few hours!

Pretty Old And Interesting

Family run antiques shop specialising in the restoration of antique fireplaces and stoves but also stocks a varied selection of carefully sourced antique furniture and collectibles for inside and outside of the home. Browsers are welcome and can expect a warm reception

Reviewed By GlosDaz - Gloucester, United Kingdom

Visited the shop recently, very friendly & engaging owner who allowed us to browse the shop leisurely without pouncing or being pushy, but on hand with excellent & honest advice when we clearly were torn between 2 similar items. No pressure to buy, more than happy to walk away to sleep on the decision. Then arranged delivery of the large chest of draws when we finally made our choice. Shop has a wide & extensive range of antiques & interesting pieces, well worth a visit - parking outside the door available too!
