Just outside the southeastern wall of Fuerte Bulnes (Fort Bulnes), the O'Higgins Lighthouse commemorates the 100th anniversary of the founding of the fort, which staked Chile's claim to the Strait of Magellan. The lighthouse is named for Bernardo O'Higgins Requelme, who helped free Chile from Spanish rule in the Chilean War of Independence.

This lighthouse is historically significant and is located at a short walking distance from Fort Bulnes. Visited the same during free time before the guided tour of the fort. The surroundings of this lighthouse are extremely picturesque. Certainly worth taking a closer look and clicking some pics while visiting Fort Bulnes.
