We were given a warm welcome by the host couple followed by a "security check" by the main attraction of the park-an "Emu". A marvellous treat for the eyes was followed.
The walking tree, the floating tree, man made caves, ponds, fishes, different birds(turkey,Emu...), animals and much more constituted a small ecosystem which had well conditioned air inside it.The floor was blanketed by degrading leaves. Watched a lot of animals and birds without the barrier of a cage. The trip took around 1 hr to finish. What I didn't like so much was the collaboration of history and religion in the park(just my opinion, some people may feel it as a great collage). A great place for nature enthusiasts. A great effort made for a good cause.

Ezhattumugam and Thumboormuzhi are infact two places on either side of the Chalakudy river, connected by a hanging bridge. Ezhattumugam is not widely known to the public in southern and northern parts of kerala, but a visit here will make you think how such a beautiful place is not known to the masses. The main attraction here is the shallow patches of water amidst small rock formations. The slow flow keep the water refreshingly clean all the time. Even kids can have great time playing in the knee/waist deep water. But adult supervision is very much necessary since some rocks are very slippery. A good 2-3 hours can be spent here relaxing and playing in the water. From ezhattumugam side we can reach Thumboormuzhy garden by walking across the hanging bridge or by crossing the shallow river bed. It consists of a beautiful garden, childrens play area and a decent restaurant.
We reached ezhattumugam from kochi. After 2.5 kms from Angamaly town, take a right turn at Karayamparambu junction. From here, ezhattumugam is around 20 kms. Road from this point is okey, but the final 2-3 kms is in pathetic condition. Sufficient parking space is provided at the entrance to river bed, but may get full on weekend, but we can park on the road side as well. After a nominal entrance fee and two minutes walk, we are on the river bed. There is one restaurant near the ticket counter where sufficient snacks and drinks are available. Thumboormuzhi side can be directly accessed from Chalakudy by travelling on chalakudy-vazhachal road.
