Liverpool's fortunes have historically been tied to shipping. But imports and exports like sugar, spice and tobacco pale in comparison with Liverpool's most famous export of all—the Beatles. Relive the hysteria at the Beatles Story Experience, and check out Paul's childhood home, but also leave time for exploring Liverpool Cathedral and the Walker Art Gallery.

The Liverpool Comedy Cellar is Liverpool's newest and coolest comedy club. Set in the intimate cellar of The Magnet Bar, in the pulsating heart of Hardman Street, the Liverpool Comedy Cellar features the cream of the International Comedy Circuit "up close and personal" every weekend and when the laughs stop the Magnet takes over with music to enjoy into the small hours. The Magnet is one of Liverpool's oldest and most iconic music venues where superstars such as Freddie Mercury, Peter Wylie, and the "Cool Ruler" himself, Mr Gregory Isaacs, have performed. Voted by the Guardian newspaper as "The Best Venue in Liverpool", The Magnet provides the perfect base for the Liverpool Comedy Cellar. Comedy and meal packages available at Bistro Jacques and The Refinery see website for details.

The Cavern Club is the cradle of British pop music, the place where the Beatles musical identity was formed. Today's Cavern is a thriving live music destination and one of Liverpool’s top places to visit. The three venues - the Cavern Club, Cavern Live Lounge and the Cavern Pub - showcase not only the incredible legacy of The Beatles, but also new up and coming bands and established artists. Discover for yourself the evocative spirit of this legendary venue and experience the unique and powerful Cavern sound performed live on stage every afternoon till late in the evening.
You mustn’t be in Liverpool and not visit such an iconic venue. A small entrance fee is a bargain given the great live music, friendly staff and massive amount of memorabilia, photos etc. Dale’s walking tour of The Cavern and Mathew Street is fabulous, entertaining, informative and free! Very highly recommended, would gladly have paid for this too.

The Cavern's third stage is The Cavern Pub. Located on Mathew Street almost directly opposite the club itself. Open daily from 11am with a wide range of Cavern and rock memorabilia on display, there’s live music every night of the week with free admission at all times. At the Cavern Pub, we present the very best musicians from Liverpool’s vibrant and legendary live music scene. From our solo-artists to our bands you will hear great original versions of classic songs from the 50s to the present day.
Situated right across the street from the Cavern Club, this place is a gem. Reasonably priced drinks, quick service, friendly punters and excellent live music. Add to that, no cover charge, this place is well worth visiting.

As The Old Ropery's finest disco den we play the best in disco, funk and soul every Wednesday to Sunday.
Lovely little bar, hidden away and feels a bit exclusive! Friendly staff, good table service and decent range of cocktails. Good choice of music and was a nice atmosphere to catch up with friends on a Saturday night!
