Cavan (/ˈkævən/; Irish: an Cabhán, meaning "the hollow") is the county town of County Cavan in Ireland. The town lies in Ulster, near the border with Northern Ireland. The town is on the main N3 road that links Dublin (to the south) with Enniskillen, Ballyshannon and Donegal Town (to the north).

i live near cavan and go to the cathedral about once or twice yearly. The solitude and peace! I love architecture and the building is stunning. Stained glass, artwork and when it comes to christmas; a have to go to see! family who have older children who like historic buildings or at christmas younger families

Beautiful atmospheric place. Really enjoyed the solitude of the old graveyard and interesting headstones. Stand under the round tower and let your imagination take over
