Weyermann Specialty Malts

Reviewed By ProfPTJ - Washington DC, United States

I'm biased, since I'm a homebrewer and I often use Weyermann malts in my brews, but visiting this place was top on my to-do list for Bamberg. The tour did not disappoint. They ended up doing the tour in English because that was a majority language of the group; sometimes they do it in German, and by special arrangement they can do other languages too. You see *everything* in the maltery, get to sample grains roasted in various ways, and have a beer tasting afterwards. Well worth an afternoon. Be aware that they only take cash for the tour, but the shop is very happy to accept credit cards...

Exclusive and personal tours in and around Heidelberg from the author of the book "Fascinating Heidelberg", Vera Cornelius. I worked 10 years as the CEO of Heidelberg tourism and events (of the City of Heidelberg) and have a profound knowledge of the region. My guests are driven with a luxurious Jeep Grand Cherokee to several interesting destinations as Heidelberg Holy Hill & Castle, Castle & Park of Schwetzingen (the stunning summer-residence of the former Electors Palatine), the Castle-Road (on the footprints of Mark Twain) or to the pretty and famous German wine region Pfalz. Of course also walking tours are possible in Heidelberg. Plus I have cooperations for example with the legendary formular 1 racing court Hockenheimring and other high-quality partners in and around Heidelberg. I offer also personal shopping or help find the best restaurants and wineries. My promise is to make your stay an individual experience in Heidelberg that is one and only. Warm regards Vera

Beer Wanderers

We offer guided tours of hiking trails that pass small rural breweries in Bavaria, along with cultural and culinary insights as well as expert tutelage on local beers. Trails can be as little as a couple hours to full day hikes. It's even possible to do multi-day walks and stay at the breweries themselves overnight. This is a chance to step back in time, to walk trails tread on by knights and peasants, past castles and rocky outcroppings, through lush forests and verdant valleys…to become a beer wanderer.
