What to do and see in Casablanca, Grand Casablanca Region: The Best Multi-day Tours

June 16, 2021 Leonardo Torrence

Today Casablanca is a large, modern city, but the former French colonial post still allows myriad movie moments for those who want to revisit love in the medina and Old City. Casa (as locals call it) isn’t too touristy, but it’s the most cosmopolitan and Western-feeling city in Morocco. Visit The King Hassan II Mosque and Casa's Medina.

Booked a private transfer from Tangier Airport. Driver didn't show up. None of the phone numbers provided in their automated pickup notification worked, all phones turned off. Googled another phone number. Someone picked up, promised to help and never called back. After my 3rd attempt to call them again, they didn't answer their phone as well. Waited for more than 1 hour until i decided to get a local taxi. Not even worth 1* out of 5.

My 80 year-old father and I visited Morocco in February/March, 2019 and hired Hassan for a customized tour for the portion of our trip that took us from Fez to Volubilis, and Meknes. There aren't many tours of Meknes, and my father grew up there, so we were looking for a very specific, non-touristy itinerary for much of our time there. Not only was Hassan an amazing and knowledgeable tour guide, but he assisted in fulfilling my father's dream of revisiting his childhood homes, helping us locate the houses after 35 years and many street name changes. Hassan was very thoughtful of my father's age and quirks, was accommodating, and very personable. We even hired Hassan for a quick tour of Casablanca and Rabat, which we hadn't planned ahead of time. Luckily for us, Hassan made the time to take us to the major attractions there as well. I can't thank Hassan enough for his hospitality, professionalism, and knowledge. He made a trip of a lifetime possible and an old man happy to revisit his youth. I would not hesitate to give Hassan my highest recommendation!

Ibrahim, our driver and primary guide, helped us get throughout the country and took spectacular care of us like we were his own family, to include my toddler who began waking up every day asking to "Ride in the bus with Mr Ibrahim". Megan proposed a great itinerary, which allowed us to have a relaxing family adventure. Thank you for such a memorable time!

It’s my first trip to south-east of morocco and I am blown away by all the landscapes ,the mountains, the view and the freshness of the air, and it was a calming weather ,especially in Tinghir region , it’s my favourite town from my trip . I really enjoyed my time there , It gave me the joy of travelling and exploring new places, I would describe it as an inspiring tourist region which worth the detour. I got the chance to interact with the villagers and they were nice to me, and very helpful and smiling. The places I visited: khemiss dades, valley of dades, valley of megoun, valley of birds, boumalne, Sekoura, Kelaat Mgouna, ouarzazat, kasbah ait benhadou, dades canyons (an hour and a half ride), monkey pastes, monkey fingers, Tisdrin, Valley Ighil Mgouna, Kasbah Itran, kasbah amridil, ... Besides, I would like to go back there to also visit Arfoud, Rissani, Merzouga, ... Thank you Anir for your professionalism, your kindness, for this travelling experience. I really recommend Anir as a guide, he is very passionate by the town and no wonder he was born there, you can relate differently to the place through his eyes I will leave you with some pictures taken by Anir

I had a great time visiting Essaouria, the car was comfortable and the driver, Issam was very good. He played some great music as well as pointed out features along the way. Essaouria is full of great art, more relaxed than Marrakech - far fewer bikes - we toured the city walls, went to the harbour and sampled lots of different foods as we walked through the food market. I thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, the many talented buskers and the much cooler temperature. All in all, a great trip, with a great team. Highly recommend. Next time, to the desert and Zagora! Thanks again guys. Cheers, Chris
