We were astounded by the rows and rows of menhirs, but seeing these dolmen was something else entirely. Just off a pretty busy road but with easy parking. We were the only ones there. Our kids were completely mesmerized. Touching the stones and walking among them is amazing. We went down into the one that is still buried, saw the engravings - an unforgettable experience!

This is a great beach and seems to go on forever! There is a path which you can cycle along though in places the sand can nearly stop you in your tracks. Well worth a visit and on a baking hot day you will need some shade!!

We found this shop and cafe accidentally while looking for a place for coffee after some sightseeing nearby. The shop is great since it offers many typical products from Brittany. You can also find some beautifully decorated biscuit and candy boxes which make great souvenirs or gifts. The choice of biscuits is impressive and prices are moderate. The cafeteria has also incredible selection of cakes and tarts. We really had a delicious break here.

Megaliths of Carnac

Reviewed By Tara K - Dublin, Ireland

What can I say.... it is simply breathtaking to behold the sheer number of the Megaliths in the Alignments. It is unmissable if you are in the region. You can start at the interpretative centre 'Maison des Megalithes', which has free parking, and walk along by the Megaliths starting at Alignements du Menec and continuing to Kermario and Kerlescan. It is not possible to walk amongst them as they are fenced in to protect them. It is well worth visiting the Geant du Manio which is massive and also has the remains of a passage tomb. The terrain to the Geant is easy for walkers but would pose difficulties for buggies/ wheelchairs.
