Yew Tree Alpacas is a small rural business based in East Hertfordshire. The business is based on our herd of 50 alpacas the majority of which are home bred. Our business covers a numbers of areas... - Breeding & sale of alpacas for their fleece and quiet temperament - Alpaca Activities - Alpaca walking & Alpaca Adventures - Retail -sales of Alpaca yarns, hand knitted accessories & alpaca gift items - Training courses ( BAS affiliated trainers) on owning & breeding alpacas During our Summer season April to September we hold alpaca walks and adventures which can be booked via our website. We also offer group visits ( 8 +) for anything from hen and birthday parties to visits for different interest groups e.g. WI. We also welcome group visits from those with limited mobility and learning difficulties. Note we are not an open farm all activities are pre-booked. The only time in the year when you can turn up is the first week of December when we have a Christmas shop.

What a fantastic experience! Steve & Penny were very welcoming hosts to their beautiful home and farm.They were very knowledgeable and Steve was able to match everyone to the alpaca with the right temperament for them. The walk was just over half an hour at a steady pace through a nearby meadow. On our return to the farm we gave the alpacas a well deserved snack and then it was our turn! Tea/coffee and snacks were served from a tent. We were all assigned our own table and everything was Covid secure. Jimmy, our alpaca, was great, he pretty much led us round! A must for animal lovers and a great birthday treat.

We were hungry and decided to stop of and have a Sunday roast rather than cooking when we got home. Best decision we made , we were greeted by the Landlord what a really nice guy he was. Explained that we had arrived between sittings and we could wait and hour for the next, we explained that we wanted to get home after our journey. The landlord, was able to with some help from the chef able to get us two most amazing Sunday roast beef with all the trimming together. He was explained, that he only had a few bits and pieces left. It was home made and delicious. We finished off with homemade pavlova which his wife had made that morning. We had a piano being played whilst we are. I couldn’t move. We will be going back for sure it’s on my Sunday roast list now and not to be missed. Family, homemade, warm , friendly, traditional, local pub. Thank you we appreciated all you did for us.
