What to do and see in Bucharest, Romania: The Best Shopping

September 5, 2021 Jeremy Dunfee

Vlad the Impaler stated his claim to Bucharest in 1459. His citadel on the Dambovita was the first of flotillas of palaces, many of which still stand. Four subway lines and a modern bus network transport visitors and commuters. Nicknamed "Little Paris", Bucharest's elegant early 20th-century architecture shows French influences. Don't miss the Village Museum, Romanian Athenaeum and the Peasant Museum. You can't miss the Palace of Parliament, the second-largest building in the world (after the Pentagon).

Located in the heart of the Old town, close to Gilda theatre and Diverta bookshop, the museum invites you to travel back in 19th century to discover a lovely interior. I liked the furniture, the Oriental room and the elegant dresses that can be worn for a photo shooting.

What If I Fly

POD. Place of Display is a contemporary art jewelry gallery, hosting temporary exhibitions of contemporary art jewelry, as well as a permanent selection of contemporary art jewelry by Romanian and foreign artists. POD means "BRIDGE" in Romanian. POD’s purpose is to create bridges between jewelry, art and design, ultimately creating a bridge in order to ease the public’s access to them. Most POD projects are collaborations between contemporary jewelers, artists and designers pursuing interpretation and/or transformation of the artistic creation specific to a certain domain (ex: drawing) into a new form of expression (ex: jewelry). We believe that focusing on what unites us rather than what separates us makes us happier, healthier and stronger. The only way this really works, is by focusing on the things we love. #unitedbythethingswelove is our favorite hashtag, a hashtag we created. This is the foundation for all our projects.

Even though a bit far from the city center, it has all the known brands and some more local brands. Wonderful food courts with a very nice variety of food options. There are lockers just in front of the main entrance. Lockers are in several sizes and you can even store your trolley case. That enables you to live your shopping bags, coats etc. and shop hands-free.I found the prices avarage, unless its sale time.
