Schloss Augustusburg

We had a wonderful visit to this Palace in Corona-time. Must reserve and be patient on phone. We went directly to desk and got the last”tour “ of the day 3:30-4:30 pm when they close. The tour consists of a guard more than guide, who directs you to info sheet in your language. No real tours due to Covid. Gardens are lovely. No photos allowed inside palace so be sure to buy small guidebook in your language. Large book only available in German but luckily my husband reads it so he bought one. Sadly we didn’t have time for the hunting lodge. My impression was that this was like a mini-Versailles. We had time for lunch at the Bruhler Wirsthaus-former train station-excellent! We returned after the tour for coffee and apple cake-not a bit was left and now we have to have carrots and cheese n crackers for dinner since we ate it all! Go if you can!

Jagdschloss Falkenlust

Reviewed By alcor1922

This was an excellent extension of our Viking Rhine Getaway optional tour which started from the Augustusburg Palace and part of the Bruhl UNESCO Palaces. This is the hunting lodge built by Clemens Augustus for his hunting parties, which is just a short walk or drive from his palace. Just like the palace, the lodge is ornately decorated. Picture taking inside is also strictly prohibited which is quite a disappointment to say the least. The tour is worth every cent as part of the optional excursion, a must-see attraction.

Phantasialand

Phantasialand is a magical place with one of their kind and world record holding attractions for both small and great. Come and experience the six different themed worlds: Berlin, China Town, Deep in Africa, Fantasy, Mexico and Mystery have more to offer than you might think. Themed orientated snacks and restaurants are waiting for you. So are the several artistic, impressive and unique shows. For extra long andventurers you can stay in one of our two Hotels: Hotel Ling Bao in China Town and Hotel Matamba deep in Africa will show you the cultures of their world.

Phantasia land is a brilliant theme park with amazing rides and wonderful themes. The decor and ride themes were brilliant and we loved the way that the rollercoasters were intertwined and crossed paths etc. Taron, Black Mamba and the log flume (one of the best I've been on) were our favorite rides at the park and are all must ride attractions. The park wasn't too busy which was great, this meant we were able to get on everything we wanted too and most atleast two times during the day. Corona measures weren't too annoying also which was an added bonus in these annoying times we find ourselves in. Overall I would highly reccomend visit to this park.
