My boyfriend bought us evening class spaces to make soup bowl and garnish bowls. This was a loose theme - you were encouraged to get as creative as you wanted with the design and function of the bowls. We got to try different styles of pottery making with pinch pot creations, mould made bowls and we got to learn the basics of pottery wheels and 'throw' our own bowl/mug/jug. I found the pottery making evening one of the most relaxing things I've done in a long time. There was no pressure of be good first time - there was as much clay as you wanted and needed and no time pressure, the evening didn't feel rushed at all. We went back a few weeks later and got paint our pieces and we are very happy with the results! The staff were so friendly, welcoming and encouraging to everyone, it was a lovely atmosphere to learn in.

I had the pleasure of attending Steve's spoon carving workshop a couple of weekends ago, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It is something I wanted to do for a while and am glad I did it through Axe and Paddle. He is knowledgeable and wants to share this with you, making sure throughout that you are comfortable with the tools and that your spoon carving is going well!. Always on hand for any questions and shares his passion for his craft with passion. It was joy to attend and carve my very own spoon, I am now looking at carving a paddle on his two day workshop! Kirsty was very helpful via email and answered any queries I had. All in all a great day -Great workshop, location and hospitality :) If you've been thinking of carving a shop or anything else with Axe and Paddle, go book it, you wont' regret it :)

Attended 26/10/2019, I brought along my own overlocker which is a pretty obscure and complicated digital Huskylock model, I was the only attendee with this model but Sybel (the facilitator) ensured that I left with a full understanding of my monster machine, she took the time to go through the manual with me, making sure that I left with a good understanding of all the function settings and the different ways in which they can be applied. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I have enrolled for 20 of Kat's sew classes, have already attended 3 sessions, worth every penny and the long trip from Bexhill to Hove. Thank you so much Kat and team.
