Fairytale villages, thermal baths, casinos and pine and birch-blanketed mountains beckon travelers to southwestern Germany's Black Forest. Scenic drives and train trips showcase the best of the area. Skiing, hiking, mountain climbing, boating and ice-skating are popular activities. Baden-Baden's Roman-Irish baths, 19th-century performance hall, casino and fresco-adorned Pump Room are much visited. Gothic masterpiece Freiburg Cathedral and its famous Boys' Choir also draw visitors.

This tour was great! It is important to note that the tour is completely in German. My German husband and I went with my parents who don't know any German and between the two of us we were able to translate the information for them. At the end of the tour you are able to try two beers or other non-alcoholic beverages (included in the ticket price). There is also a free gift that you can collect in the gift shop (different items are given to children that are not of drinking age). The town itself is great as well. There are quite a few restaurants and Biergartens. This is definitely worth a visit!

We enjoyed our visit to Rothaus. We did not arrive in time for the organised tour . Sue had lunch in the restaurant and the meal was very good ( and large!) and reasonably priced. My husband enjoyed a pork knuckle and potato dumplings whilst I enjoyed the Pork Roast. Of course Both washed down with really good beer. The gift shop has very reasonably priced beer steins and a very wide selection of clothing, beers, model trucks etc The scenery on the drive and from the brewery is stunning. It was approx an hour drive back to Freiburg where we were staying
