Absolutely the most enjoyable thing we have done this year, so far as outdoor activities go! We took Torra, the Harris's Hawk for a walk/fly with Finn and someone else - sorry far too distracted by the beautiful birds to catch his name. Really knowledgeable about the birds and chatted with us all the way. Torra ws flying around beside us and landing on our gloves really often for 'treats'. It was amazing to handle such an amazing bird. We both loved it and I'm sure we will be repeating the experience. The birds are amazingly well cared for and Falconry SE are a pleasure to deal with too. Sad I could only award 5 stars.

The Powell-Cotton Museum

The Powell-Cotton Trust are excited to announce the formal launch of our ‘Reimagining the Museum’ project. Over the next 2 years the Trustees with the ‘Reimagining’ programme team, have some key aims: - Implementation of our decolonisation strategy - Redesign and develop our education and outreach programme - Deliver the ‘Colonial Critters’ project - Create and deliver an exciting programme of public engagement – both digital and physical, including public events - Carry out essential remedial and restorative work to the museum building, Quex House and Quex Gardens Throughout this exciting period of change we have taken the difficult decision that the museum, house and gardens will not be open for public visits other than through organised events and programmes. These will all be advertised on our website and through social media, allowing audiences to continue to connect with our collections – physically, virtually and through outreach.

Whilst February isn’t the best time to see the gardens there is so much inside the museum to see. An amazing collection and worth a visit.

Quex Adventure Golf

A stunning 18 hole mini golf course like no other, themed around Quex parks heritage landmarks, Set in a tranquil environment with water falls streams and even ducks, and after your round of golf why not enjoy a tasty ice cream or waffle in the onsite ice cream parlor.

5 of us went on a really sunny day. It was lovely and shaded because of the location amongst trees and with water features made it much cooler. The pictures on the website don't do the golf course justice - it was very quaint and well planned out - good quality and entertaining golf course. There is a limit to 6 hits per hole which is good because it means that a huge queue doesnt form. Lots of hand sanitizer around too. We had an ice cream afterwards and they had an amazing selection - great quality too. Would definitley recommend for a trip out.

Part of a later birthday present for an octogenarian, an afternoon stroll with frequent stops suited us non-walkers. Guide Calum was very helpful and understanding and selected a couple of lovely animals for our trek. Easy flat ground mainly in the woods was relatively relaxing and I think it was the alpacas walking us rather than the other way around! Cream tea afterwards was well deserved and very tasty.

Had my daughter's and friends joint 4th birthday party here on Saturday. Very good service. Staff were very helpful and had a lot of patience with the 18 children they were dealing with. All party had glitter tattoos, birthday boy and girl got pressents and all of the party got a pirate hat/princes crown and accessory and the parents to the birthday boy and girl got free coffee. Also you dont have to leave as soon as party's finished they was happy for the kids to stay and play. On leaving got to 2 free vists for the birthday boy and girl. The kids had a blast, we had no tiding up and free coffee so everyone was happy. All round an awesome party and fantastic value for money. Will definitely be returning.
