Christian Delacoux Sculpteur

Christian Delacoux exhibits permanently at home, between Pau and Lourdes in Montaut, a small village of 1200 souls. The location of the showroom is visible on the map : it is in the heart of the village, on the church square. To ensure that the artist is there, the best is to contact him before your visit.

La Minoterie

En 1998, l’artiste Chahab achète l’ancienne friche industrielle totalement délabrée de Nay afin de la rénover pour y établir un espace d’art contemporain : la Minoterie. L’association Nayart est créée à cette occasion. Depuis, Nayart n’a de cesse de faire connaître l’art contemporain au cœur du territoire rural de la Plaine de Nay, pour un public souvent éloigné de l’offre culturelle, et en particulier les publics scolaires. Le champ d’intervention s’étend plus largement sur le territoire des Pyrénées-Atlantiques et des Hautes-Pyrénées. La Minoterie a désormais acquis une renommée aussi bien auprès du grand public que des professionnels, grâce à une programmation exigeante d’artistes nationaux et internationaux. La structure accueille désormais plus de 5000 visiteurs par an, dont mille scolaires. Autour de ces expositions, Nayart propose aussi au public une programmation de spectacles vivants, conférences sur l’histoire de l’art ou de stages ouverts aux adultes et aux enfants.

A great museum, tells you the history of the French paratroopers but what really made it for us was our guide, a paratrooper himself, he really brought it all to life. Definitely recommend a visit if in the area....

The Beret Museum

The “berret” in Béarnais, made and worn in this country for several centuries well deserved its Museum. The BLANCQ OLIBET establishments, manufacturers of berets since 1819 (5 generations) opened in 1996 a corporate museum dedicated to the history and production of the famous headgear in France! Today Showcase of Ets LAULHERE in Oloron Ste Marie, last historic manufacturer, the Museum is a real jewel for the jewel that has become the Béarnais Beret. It is in Nay, at the foot of the Pyrenees, in a magnificent Directoire style stone building, that you will discover the secrets of its manufacture. A documentary film will give you some tips for wearing this famous beret. Let yourself be tempted by a visit! And if the beret charmed you, make a detour to the Boutique du Musée.
