My husband and I recently visited Loreto, Mexico and it was a wonderful visit. We did some sight seeing on our own but also used the tour company of Wild Loreto for an all day tour to the Pacific to see the gray whales and their calves. It was awesome and our tour guide, Chalio, was wonderful. He knew when the whales were getting ready to come up and we had our cameras ready. We liked our tour to the see the whales with Chalio so much that we decided to take another tour to Coronado Island that is in the National Marine National Park in Loreto Bay in order to see more marine life! Marine life we saw in all its glory; we saw sea lions, all sorts of birds including the blue footed booby, dolphins, and had a beautiful hike on a clean and well marked trail that revealed millions of years of geologic activity. All stunning and Chalio was a wonderful guide. I hope Loreto Bay stays protected as the ecological wonder that it is.

Mt. Solmar

Hubby, friend and I decided to try the climb on our own only to discover a wonderful person named, Enrique. Enrique took our group up the mountain but unfortunately my husband and I got separated from the group and was solo. Enrique did discover us as we made our way down. My recommendations are to wear good footwear, hat, sunscreen and bring water or an electrolyte type drink. Enrique offers this climb every morning at 9:30. He doesn't charge for being your guide, and tips are optional. TIP the Man! He was my savior that day and saved my a**. He is also a dog trainer and the tips help out with food expenses, etc. LOVE You Enrique ! You are the man!

Was lucky to get there with Selkie Travels- after exiting snorkelling with Sea lions we got to this beach for lunch - it was the most breathtaking beach I have seen- sand is white and water is so super blue- it was worth every penny - make sure you save a day for this trip as it is not close from La Paz and all depends on weather as well — so book it and enjoy the raw beauty of Baja
