This is a long overdue review. We went last year and Amir was very helpful. He picked us up and brought us to the hotel and gave us tips on where to go in Baku. The guide/driver he assigned to us, Vlad, was also great and knowledgeable about the places we went to. It was a long drive to Khinaliq, but in the end, it was worth it. We had lunch at one of the local's houses, very good food and authentic experience.

It is an excursion to Gobustan National Park and Museum, about 40 miles (64 km) southwest of the centre of Baku on the west bank of the Caspian Sea, to see the ancient petroglyphs. Gobustan is assumed one of the cradles of civilization, as ancient petroglyphs have been identified as belonging to the 12-8th century B.C. In addition to the Gobustan, we will also visit en route active (bubbling) mud volcano site. On the way back we can tour Bibi Heybet Mosque, a recreation of the mosque with the same name built in the 13th century but completely destroyed by the Bolsheviks in 1936.

We had an 8 day customised tour organised by Azerbaijanguide.az. From the first email reply I received everything was handled very well in a professional manner. Itinerary was designed according to what we wanted to see and do and we had a brilliant time. Our driver and guide, Farhad, was with us all week and was very accomodating. Artunj made sure our tour went without a hitch and was on hand via phone or WhatsApp whenever we needed to contact him. All in all we had an amazing time exploring (being shown) Azerbaijan and would highly recommend Artunj and his company if you decide to visit this interesting country.

With Private Fire Temple and Fire Mountain Tour you will find out why actually Azerbaijan is called land of fire with visiting 17th century fire temple and hill that literally burning 4 millenniums. For centuries, fire-worshipers from faraway countries, and even priests from India have searched for the fire and found it in Absheron and built their main temple here - Surakhani Atashgah. The burning of the foot of the mountain (Yanardagh) for a long time is the main nuance that attracts attention. The most interesting thing is that the wind, rain and snow have not been able to extinguish this fire for 4,000 years.

We had an awesome day tour of the Absheron Peninsula. The Gobustan mud volcanos and national park and the fire temple were super unique. Baku private tours made our trip easy and comfortable. They were flexible to adjust so that we could be at the mid volcanoes at sunset. I highly recommend the tour and the company to anyone coming to Baku.
