Casona Gutierrez Ayacucho

Ayacucho is the historical city of Peru, and icon of the history of America. Reason why it houses structures represent culture in each of its corners, such as churches and mansions created at the time of the Spanish colony. The house Gutierrez represents the houses that served as a military base for the Spanish colony, created since 1630, belonged to one of the most important families in Huamanga

Museo de la Memoria

Reviewed By alextbrouwer - Tarma, Peru

This was a highlight of my time in Ayacucho. The small museum ran by the organization that was actively fighting against the Shining Path does a great and solemn job of honoring those deeply affected by the era of terrorism. At only 3 soles to enter ($1) it's a must visit. Please note that most of the displays are in Spanish but many have an English translation.
