This set of ruins off the beaten path exceeded expectations. In addition to the temple itself, there are the ruins of an entire ancient city to explore, as well as ongoing excavations to observe. There’s a great walking trail from the upper part of the city down through the ancient Roman town and down towards the marina. Imagine, waking the same path as Aristotle...

Behramkale is a upper town of Assos. At the top of the hill, you can see the remnants of the ancient city such as the castle, the Temple of Athena in the open air museum. In addition to those, you can also see the mosque built in the Ottoman Era. Recently, Behramkale is a very cozy village with its tea gardens, cafés, souvenir shops, and authentic restaurants. After visiting the ancient town, it is a joy to walk on the street and make some shopping. Especially in summer seasons, it is also nice to drink cold blackberry juice that you can find almost every corner in Behramkale.

This is the most beautiful spot in Assos. We really liked the marina, beach and its surroundings. A definitely must see place.
