Cascada Varciorog

Reviewed By Ingrid2013Bucharest - Bucharest

Not very challenging but stunning views. The trail passes a stream several times. There are big logs to walk across the water but in the winter they are covered with ice. With good boots you can get across through the water. It's ankle deep at most and you can easily step on the rocks. Keep going till you see the waterfall but do try to get as close as possible by negotiating the bigger rocks at its bottom. It's very rewarding.

Travel Guide Romania

Travel Guide Romania started as a project that aims to promote Romania’s image in the world. We want to show the beauty, the Wilderness, the tradition and the authenticity of this country which promises more than we are tempted to think. All the articles appearing on this site, are descriptions of the tours made by our team in the whole country. Our goal is to make as many people fall in love with Romania!

Everything in the guided nature tour by Cristina & Bogdan has been perfect, starting from swift & clear response to emailed questions when planning our vacation in Romania, through hosting & guiding and even change of plans.
They will match the level of physical challenge precisely to one's capabilities, neither leaving capacity unexploited nor over-stretching it. Our children, 11 & 14, fell in love with both in no time; despite being physically exhausted at the end of the day and for the younger one for a couple of days after. Cristina & Bogdan gently encourage one to cope with the challenge, helping where needed without being pushy. They truly love Romania and its nature and seek only exposing it to others. They are also great & well-educated partners for discussing various matters during the breaks taken through adventure and later in the evening.
We've been guided in their native Apuseni; they may guide you in other areas of Romania as well. We'll certainly return for more.
We haven't met the other guides in the company. Judging by the owners, I trust they are as good.

Galbena Gorges

Galbena Gorges - the beautiful gorges in Apuseni. Galbena Gorges are among the most beautiful and spectacular gorges in Romania.

There is a possibility to hike through the Mountains, but we decided to drive till we reach the gorges. The road wasn't that good as we thought. So it took around 40 min. to reach this place. Then we realized that to hike till the waterfall will be a bit complicated (we were with five years old kid). So we took our sandals and wade through the cold river. Resume - it was worth to have this adventure.
