Sultan II. Beyazit Mosque & Theological College

Such a calming and positive atmosphere... As soon as you walk in to a big garden you feel calmness and relaxation. You see beautiful structure of the past. Little crafts in the fountain which is right behind the gorgeous tree from hundreds of years ago... Inside the mosque is big and welcoming, quite colder than the outside, well kept and tidy. You see the detailed Islamic structure everywhere. It's been 6 months since I last saw but I still feel and see everything.

If you are in the area, don't miss this gem. This area is rich in history and this museum provides context. Traditional museum, with most things behind glass. God of the Storm was way way cool.

Amasya Castle

I have visited many castles around Turkey but this one is definitely one of my favorites! The walking all the way up of the castle is not too easy and there are too many stairs but the views at the end of the struggling definitely worth it. You can see both sides of the city and take amazing pictures from every angle. The ticket only costs 5 TL which is very affordable, this is a must when coming to Amasya.

But the views are unbeatable. Great photos. Well worth the hike. The tombs, which are accessed from down below, are also worth the haul up the stairs. The Green River looks very very green. Recommend both, but unless you are in excellent shape, do one on one day and the other on the next. The castle can be accessed by road up the back side.

King Rock Tombs

Reviewed By 1973LYS - Amsterdam, The Netherlands

I only read the history of King Rock Tombs from other reviews :-) We climbed to visit the empty tombs. It is practically easy climb for the sportive people and what we got, was the best breathtaking view of Amasya city with Yeşilirmek river, 3 bridges (Meydan Köprüsü, Alcak Köprüsü, and Hükümet). Though I can't imagine how they built this rock tombs in such height.
