Hired a Fiat Ducato Campervan from Chris. He was extremely helpful in describing operation of van. This ensured my wife and I found it easy as first time campervan hire people. Van ran perfectly for the week we has it. Would highly recommend RetroVenture. We will be back!

The Golf Course At Adare Manor

Masterfully designed, magnificently maintained, and perfectly set within the glorious estate of one of Europe’s most spectacular manor house hotels, The Golf Course at Adare Manor is ready to take its place among the best championship courses anywhere. Fully redesigned and rebuilt in 2016-2017 to championship-worthy specifications, with the very latest in course technology and construction methods, The Golf Course at Adare Manor offers a spectacular golfing experience amid the breath-taking surroundings of our parkland estate.

I have played numerous courses throughout the world and some very decent ones too: Arabella and Pinicle Point South Africa, Reunion Resort Florida US King's Barns Scotland Ocean Club Bahamas, K-Club Waterville European Club Ireland. All amazing courses but none of them anyway close to the golfing experience we enjoyed at the Golf Course at Adare Manor. 55 greenkeepers are employed to keep this fantastic course in the immaculate condition it is set. Greens and Bunkers are ventilated, fairways are better than your carpets at home (no rough on the course!!). Nothing is left to coincidence, everything manicured to perfection. Each hole has its own character, its own "risk and reward shot", greens have huge run-offs giving them an exciting edge. The Irish wind also makes it an extra challenge. We were a 1, 10, 12 and 15 HCP and unanimously agreed that this was the best course we have ever played

Adare Manor Golf Club

We visited The Adare Manor as part of a 3 week family getaway to London and Ireland over Christmas and New Years. We visited for afternoon tea and myself, husband and two tween daughters simply fell in love with this place. We enjoyed afternoon tea at all of our favourite places in London at The Wolseley, The Ritz, The Savoy and in Ireland at Dromoland Castle and Fitzgerald Castle and we all agreed The Gallery at Adare Manor was one of the best! The week before we flew home, we decided we needed to go back and stay for our last two nights and we are SO pleased that we did. May I just say that every single staff member here went out of their way to talk to us, get to know us, and help us with ANYTHING that we wanted. We enjoyed lunch and dinner in the Manor as well as many meals in the carriage house, a movie in the cinema, a horse and carriage ride through the grounds, and a mist laded woodland walk to see the enchanted forest. Our two tween daughters enjoyed this place as much as we did. This property is exquisite and we enjoyed every magical filled corner. The sympathetic and gracious restoration was the best we have seen thus far. Take a candle home so you are reminded of this fairy tale when you leave. The delicious scent of the rooms stayed with me for days. We are already planning a return visit at Christmas time. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

A nice circular walking loop along the water in Adare. I had to ask directions at the Heritage Centre on how to get on the walking path. It took about 20 minutes and it was basically a flat path, so not physically taxing. Good views of some of the buildings in the town. Supposed to be some wildlife in the area of the loop, but we didn't see any during our walk. Enjoyable, particularly on a nice day.
