Really wanted to leave a positive review for here for both the hotel and restaurant! Myself and my partner were due to stay a few nights beginning of June. Due to TUI flight cancellations I was unable to get back from Morocco for the booking so had to message via Booking.com and explain I was stuck! I kept the reservation team updated as much as possible. The hotel were extremely helpful, offered to rebook/cancel immediately. Unfortunately as TUI could not guarantee a flight home I was forced to cancel on the day of arrival. Booking.com wanted £90+ For the cancellation. The hotel kindly waived the cancellation charge due to the circumstances. I can’t thank the reservation team enough for being so helpful and responsive during a stressful time. Finally made it to Warwick yesterday and although the hotel was booked, myself and my partner decided to pop in and have dinner! The food was fantastic! Service faultless! Atmosphere warm and inviting. We had a fantastic dinner with cocktails and will return on our next trip to Warwick!

Nice overnight stay with good food

Reviewed By Martin W

Stayed here for a couple of nights whilst away for the weekend. Rooms are situated in a separate block from the actual pub. A little bit noisy as next to a busy road. Apart from that room was fine and slept well. Breakfast was good with a wide choice of freshly cooked dishes. We also ate in the pub both nights. Food was very tasty, if maybe a little bit pricey. Overall very happy with our visit.

Atta's warmth and knowledge, plus fabulous breakfast

Reviewed By SarahMonks

We were 3 friends meeting in Warwick to see the town. The rooms were quiet and had all we needed for a two night stay. We were told to treat the place like home. The host Atta was very helpful, giving us all the information we needed for the area, His breakfast was superb and lasted us until the evening. After checking we had had enough to eat, we were entertained by his fascinating stories. If you want an immaculate hotel with everything just perfect, this is not for you. However, we decided the warmth and amenable character of the owner, outweighed any disadvantages of the fabric and fittings of the building.

Lovely place to stay

Really nice welcome from the young man behind the bar. We had an email to say car park would be closed and to park in the car park just behind. We were to keep receipt and would be refunded. This we did no problem at all. Booked the 4 poster bedroom. Really clean, lovely room with large bathroom. Had a few drinks in the bar before going out and when we came back in everyone was welcoming. Short walk into the town . Met Mike at breakfast the next morning at breakfast whom I had spoken to on the telephone as there was a problem with hotels.com re my booking and he had managed to sort for me. Very friendly man and very obliging. Breakfast was good.

Recently renovated and looking smart

The guest house is some way from the town centre on foot, but there is an excellent bus service right outside the property. Although on a main road I didn't find the traffic noice at all intrusive (I was at the front of the house). There is no wardrobe, chest of drawers or shelf in the bathroom for toiletries, but there is a hanging rail for clothes. The bedrooms are light and airy and new. The breakfasts are delicious. The owner is justifiably proud of her efforts to update the Villa and it looks lovely.

Family stay with toddler

Reviewed By Jo B

To be honest it's a mixed bag! The downsides are: thin curtains with an incredibly wonky rail, two tiny tea cups and very few tea bags, no biscuits. No hooks in bathroom, only one chair (to be fair it was a nice swivel one though), no rugs by the beds, very thin duvets. The kettle could not be filled directly as there was not enough room between sink and tap. The upsides are: spotlessly clean, freshly decorated, nice staff generally (although the initial encounter was by a woman who wouldn't know a smile if it bit her), fantastic location very close to the town centre, free parking, fluffy towels, secure room. Our toddler loved the 2 tiny goldfish in the bar. Also, the town itself is gorgeous, we were lucky enough to be there on a Saturday and the market is wonderful. There are lots of independent shops, great pubs, a huge park with a glorious children's playground. mini and crazy golf and a boating lake with pedaloes, canoes and paddleboards. The castle is splendid too of course! So, we would definitely stay in the Black Horse again but would take a couple of normal sized mugs and a few more tea bags. The other stuff was just quite funny!!

Lovely B&B

Reviewed By colinf296

We stayed for 2 nights in the middle of November when it was gloomy and overcast outside. Our host, Sue, welcomed us at the front door and promptly supplied a tray of tea and freshly baked cake! Great start. We were shown to our room which was in the original 16th century part of the house – one of the cruck beams went across the room. Room was comfortable and well-appointed with a good ensuite. Suitably refreshed we took a short walk to The Antelope for dinner. Breakfast was extremely tasty and well cooked; we could live on these and nothing else. There are extensive grounds which we only got a glimpse of. If you want a good traditional B&B with a great host then look no further!
