This is a great little restaurant, just down the road from where I was staying (Urban Hotel & Spa).
An excellent a la carte menu but I went for the daily menu, which had a good range of choices. The food was beautifully prepared, the servings generous and the service faultless.
It's clear that this restaurant has a loyal local following and you can see why. I'd definitely recommend.

Placed on the edge of the Lac du Héron, the Estaminet serves very good food. I stopped here yesterday after a walk alongside the lake on a freezing day and had a very welcome coffee in the café.

Visited whilst in the area after returning from southern France.
Having trawled the Internet to find a reasonable place for my myself, my wife, and our three children (12,11,7) to eat we decided on 'Salad & Co'.
We figured out the slightly unusual card selection system, selected a table and made our way to the Buffett.
A fabulous selection of salad items, cooked meats, dressings etc, as well as delicious chilled soups and breads.
A visit then to the 'plancha' bar. Here you select a Bowl of vegetable/noodles/rice etc. and have them stir fried while you wait along with a meat accompaniment and sauces of your choice.
To finish, self service ice cream and frozen yoghurt dispensers with a number of different flavours and lots of unusual delicious toppings.
Trips to the chilled drinks dispenser are also included, with lots of different varieties of flavoured water.
I would highly recommend this highly innovative and slightly unusual concept in fresh buffet dining. It really works, was so delicious and really reasonable too!!

We ate here after driving from Nottingham via Dover/Calais.
After a long day on the road it was the closest restaurant to our holiday let.
And what a great choice we made.
The staff were attentive and polite, and helped as best they could with our limited French.
The main items on each plate were amazing, but the lack of difference in salad, potatoes and (cold) cooked aubergine let it down slightly.
Would I eat here again? Most definitely.
Would I recommend it? Yes, but nit if you were expecting a "mind-blowing" taste of French cuisine.

Definitely this is a restaurant targeting and having regular customers.
However, casual customers (which is our case) are also warmly welcomed. We went there the first time by chance and we comeback for pleasure!
The dishes are not only elaborated but very tasty and made of products of high quality.
Okay, now let’s talk about the deco: To say the least, it is a bit outdated and eclectic! This gives a certain charm (not a charm certain for me). But honestly, everything else compensates it by 200 percent (on top of it the price / quality ratio is excellent, e.g. gourmet menu for less than 35 Euros).
A small restaurant to be experienced and I'm sure you will come back, as well.
