This park, plus the extension of walking trails located nearby, makes this place a truly fantastic park to enjoy. A lot of events are held at the park throughout the year. This is a wonderful place to walk, sit and meet your friends / neighbours.

Aurora Cultural Centre

What a beautiful historic building. Love the old creaky wooden floors. This place is worth checking out. My only critique is they need to have some different events. I loved the Dave Gunning show a few years back. But other than that, most activities don't have mass appeal. But I'll be keeping my eye open.

Thornton Bales Conservation Area

My three year old was mystified by this beautiful, clean, deep and shady forest. It was an easy walk in but a deceivingly challenging uphill trek back to the car. We will visit this trail often when we're looking for some outdoor exercise while staying out of the blazing sun.

Sharon Temple

Reviewed By stick2theplan - Newmarket, Canada

We were the only visitors on a quiet Sunday. Teens are generally not keen on this sort of thing but there were quite a few "wows" regarding the architecture. The staff member that greeted us made it special with her in-depth knowledge of the Temple and the local area which was recounted clearly and easily off the top of her head; there was not a single question I asked that was unanswered. We felt extremely welcome and not at all awkward as you sometimes do when the only ones in a place. The indoor displays at the entrance were extremely well done. Would return again when a festival or music event was on. I could sit for hours in this peaceful place.

Upper Canada Mall

Upper Canada Mall is a premier shopping destination in the Greater Toronto Area. Located in Newmarket, Ontario, the mall offers simply the best shopping experience North of Toronto, with its best-in-class collection of retailers.

Reviewed By Colley51 - Newmarket, Ontario, L3X1V2

The majority of stores located within the Upper Canada Mall seem to cater to youth. That is great for these youngsters and or young adults, but it really is not great for middle aged or older adults. There are very very few stores located in this mall that sells merchandise targeting the aforementioned age group. So why go to this Mall? The style and types of clothing are great but not suitable for us maturer folks. So, if you want to buy age appropriate clothing, then stay away from this Mall.

Newmarket River Walk Commons

Reviewed By Patrickluna - Toronto, Canada

I love visited this place on the weekend or when they have an event going on. It is one of the new attractions they have built in Newmarket to change the downtown core and make it more family friendly. I have been living in Newmarket for 25+ years and have seen it grow and change. Weekends are bustling with people in the Fountain and on Main Street. The walking trail is right beside of commons too. If you're ever in Newmarket, stop by this area

Main Street Newmarket

Reviewed By Mystikal_mel

We spent a lovely day around Fairy lake today. Great restaurants, walking trails, nature, and great old architecture. However the #townofnewmarket really needs to improve the shopping on main street. We were bored by the offerings and so we only spent 30minutes there. The stores are either closed!, tired/junky looking, or specific to only one clientele (tshirts, comics, tween spa, etc). I really enjoy the furniture shop and yarn store. You need a strategy to attract more trendy stores to the area. There are too many service companies taking up prime real estate there too like insurance companies, tomb stones, lawyers offices. You want to attract people to your downtown area and make them stay for longer periods of time to spend their money so it goes back into the economy.
They have done a great job at attracting new restaurants to the area (brew hops, ground burger, made in Mexico, firkin, cachet, snackmarket, malt, tea shop, and more!) the activities the town puts on in the commons are out of this world! The farmers market is the best. Skating. Splash pad. Concerts. The library pod. Hockey day in Newmarket. And so much more! The marketing and events team should be proud of themselves!

Canadian Moments Mural

Although nice, I would not make a trip for the sake of this mural. It is something to eye-ball for couple minutes, but that is it. In fact, the intersection it is located on is so congested that if you are on o left turning line, you will have plenty of time to look at it.
