The main city of the northern Tuscan Riviera area of Versilia, Viareggio began as a medieval fishing village, then later gained renown for its shipbuilding. In the mid-19th century, the town was developed as a seaside resort, which it’s been ever since. Today, the city is loved for its long beaches, pine woods, great shopping and lively nightlife. It’s also home to the famous carnival of Viareggio, dating back to the late 19th century and one of Europe’s most important carnival events.

10 stars for hotel Lisà!!

I would highly recommend to stay at hotel Lisà. The rooms are big and clean. The location is great and the breakfast is really nice and maybe even important: the staff is one of the friendliest that I have ever experienced. They are always there for you if you need anything and if you have any questions they are happy to answer it for you. I think it’s one of the nicest hotel that I have stayed in and therefore I would definitely come back to Viareggio to stay at hotel Lisà!

Noisy and basic

Reviewed By seandavidu

I chose this due to the proximity of the beach (3 blocks) but my room was very basic with a horrible to use wet-room rather than a proper shower. The shower curtain was held up with metal rods that fell onto me when I used the shower. The hotel had very little sound proofing and there was noise until very late at night from other guests. I slept badly both nights of my stay.

Viareggio Carnival weekend stay

Reviewed By 59anice

What a lovely family run hotel..200 yards from the sea front of the beautiful seaside town of Viareggio..we stayed here for the carnival and we were not disappointed..yes rooms are fairly basic but they were spotlessly clean and the 2 rooms we booked both had a balcony which gave views down to the seafront. Fantastically placed for the Carnival itself. Continental breakfast was of excellent quality with good choices and tasty home made cakes which went well with the coffee which was served fresh and of good standard with a smile. We will be back next year.

Memorable stay

Reviewed By alinegomes_86

This was my first time in Italy so I had a lot of expectations! My husband’s been to Italy before but also first time in Viareggio. It was a short trip to celebrate my birthday, we wanted somewhere comfortable, close to the beach and affordable. We were warmly greeted by Cindy on our arrival who was so friendly and welcoming, answering to all our questions and recommending places on the beach. We stayed on the 5th floor, our room was spacious and mostly important during these times SO SO CLEAN! Comfortable bed, little tv, fridge we used to store our drinks, air con that we used one night - powerful and silent - closet to put our clothes and the bedside tables. There’s also a desk and mirror and another cabinet we used to store our little toiletries, make up, etc.. a rack that could have at least 6 jackets, so we managed to keep the room organised. The bathroom was also spacious and again, super clean! We were provided 3 towels each - bath, hand and face towel - and complimentary soap, shower gel, shower cap. There was a small cabinet to store our things and it looked newly renovated. New sink and shower area. Good water pressure, I could wash my hair with no problem at all and no water splashing all over the place. My husband is 1.94m tall and had no problem in the shower either. The room was serviced every day: we would come back to a clean room and our bed was made. Towels weren’t replaced, which wasn’t a problem to us at all and I’m sure we would get new ones if we asked. We also had a balcony with 2 chairs and a table to appreciate the view of the sea and mountains - after coming back from dinner we’d enjoy a glass of wine there before going to bed. We got a bottle in a supermarket nearby and Cindy kindly borrowed a wine opener and a glass. Due to Covid, we were asked to choose time and type of breakfast as it’s not allowed to have a buffet. Two options were provided: - sweet: with yogurt, jam, toast, fruit, cereal - meat: with baguette, cheese, salami, ham, fruit, small salad, boiled egg, cream cheese On top of that we’d also get 2 slices of cake (flavours varied, we had chocolate, lemon, peach), 2 sweet croissants and coffee of our choice. We had one each on the first day and the following days we’d share just one as it was a lot of food and we didn’t want to waste. In the evenings we could smell the cakes being baked for the next morning and in the morning I’d also wake up to the smell of what I think was baguettes! There was a bar but wasn’t in service, although I’m sure Cindy would gladly serve us coffee. A small room with chairs and sofa and a small selection of books and another seating area with an open view of an olive tree - very pleasant! We were required to wear masks all the time in the common areas and there was hand sanitizers in every floor, reception and breakfast area. Lift could be used only by one person (or one room) at a time but we took the stairs every day as some type of exercise after all the good food we were having. If there’s a negative comment, it would be from my husband who’s a light sleeper and was bothered by the sound of the fridge during the night. He switched off for the night and it was fine. Other than that, no noise other than the birds and the sea and the shutters kept the room really dark. We planned to take pictures of the room on our last day but unfortunately ended up forgetting, as we think the ones here do not do justice to the hotel. We have of our balcony view and the nice square opposite the hotel. We highly recommend it for families and couples who are looking for a friendly, comfort and family atmosphere place to stay. We’ll recommend to our friends and will definitely come back. We hope to see Cindy again soon!

Perfect little family run hotel

Great little hotel. The two owners are absolutely perfect - they couldn't do more to help! The room was a good size with a nice large bathroom. We had a room at the front of the property which had a great balcony that received the sun all day long. This was perfect for a little sunbathing! The location is great too. Just a few steps from a lovely park, 2 minutes from the beach and the promenade which is full of great restaurants, bars, and shops. 10 minute walk from the train station, and really easy to find. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

La Bougainville

Absolute Verarsche!

Reviewed By MRMRSDE

Was übrigens alles Top-Ausflugsziele waren. Passt also bitte auf, mit diesem sehr ominösen Angebot. WIR KOMMEN GANZ BESTIMMT NICHT MEHR.
