Great welcome, great food, lovely owners

We only stayed for one night at Villa Ambra while on a recent bike tour in the south of Sicily but we really enjoyed our stay. Ambra and her father were both very friendly and helpful, there was plenty of space for our mountain bikes out the back, the room was clean and comfortable and the food was really delicious. Unfortunately we couldn't take any of the delicious carob syrup they make with us.....but we'll be back another time for that! Grazie mille per l'ospitalità!

Like Staying at the home of a friend

Reviewed By Bindicated

Finding our way to the hotel along the thin, winding roads was a bit of a challenge, but once we arrived it was wonderful. There is no front desk staff, but we arranged our arrival time via email and Laura was there to meet us and get us settled. She gave us a parking pass for our car and directed us to where we would be able to park, and we found a space easily within a 5 minute walk back to the hotel. The hotel itself is in a beautifully renovated old building. The rooms are all done differently. Ours was modern and sleek inside with all the conveniences we could want -- a mini fridge stocked with water, a very comfortable bed, well appointed bathroom, and even a little balcony overlooking the street below. Everything was very well thought through. The space was a bit small on one side of the bed, so they had a short bedside table on wheels that could be stored under the bed most of the time and then wheeled out easily whenever you needed whatever you stored there. There is a hot tub with a tiny grass lawn around it outside the back of the hotel and up a set of stairs to a higher level. We didn't use it but it looked very peaceful and relaxing. In the morning, there is a buffet breakfast provided downstairs in the kitchen. There were coffee drinks, meat, cheese, breads, yogurt, fruit, juice, granita, and some of the most beautiful small pastries I have ever seen. The breakfast room has a vaulted cellar type ceiling and was very cozy. They sell olive oils and have a wide variety of them out on the table for you to sample with your meal if you like. It was hot during our visit and the AC worked perfectly and kept us cool! The location was perfect. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go and leave the car in the first spot we found for it. The staff were both friendly and very helpful. Staying here was great!

We stayed for 2 nights at Villa Tasca at a quiet time of year and were very satisfied with our stay. Signora Tasca , the owner, was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was very acceptable and comfortable. The restaurant was closed in the evening but a good breakfast was available. The location is rural but only a short drive from Caltagirone.

Excellent customer service and value for money.

The owner of B&B Umberto is super friendly , the B&B is situated in an excellent part of Catania where you can walk everywhere it's near restaurants, bars and museums. If you catch the bus from the airport get off at Piazza Trento and walk to the B&B , it's a 200 mt walk from the bus stop . I would recommend the B&B. Great value for money.

Beautiful and quiet! Felt like being at home!

Reviewed By sanstefano

We absolutely loved our stay at this cuddly and family-like guest house located in the countryside and run by a wonderfully warm, honest gentleman named Gianni. He greeted us at our arrival with a big smile, a WiFi pass, showed me the backyard filled with toys for our little daughter to play with and patiently explained how to visit all the main places I absolutely wanted to see again (Ragusa, Modica, Marina di Ragusa, Marzamemi and Montalbano's home). The rooms are perfect, modern, simple, very clean and there was the use of a fully stocked kitchen for preparing meals for our little girl. Gianni truly made us feel like we were at home. We will coming back again next summer! Thanks Gianni!

Don't do it

Reviewed By Oliver S

We did not actually stay there, but friends talked me into booking a trip to the place, to see how they make their ricotta and caciocavallo cheeses. We started with a visit to the milk cows (see pix), then proceeded to the cheese-making facility, small and not particularly clean, then we tasted some fresh ricotta which I found completely inedible, took some pictures of the views and left. Totally not worth it.

Great location!

Reviewed By Candace M

My husband and I recently rented the downstairs room. The space is nicely decorated, clean and inviting. We visited in June and didn’t have to use the air conditioner. Only two minor issues: the hot water didn’t stay warm enough for two showers in the AM and it was very humid/damp in the bedroom (which may be expected given the location is the bedroom). The breakfast includes coffee, yogurt, fruit and croissants. The host is very welcoming and inviting and even helps to arrange taxis and things upon departure! We overall very much enjoyed this B&B as it was nicely located.

Tranquil Mediterranean Beach Villa

We stayed 2 quiet nights after a week in the beautiful but busy hill towns. We enjoyed a long beach walk, ending at a fascinating ruin near Sampieri. Walter’s hospitality was unmatched. He speaks English and knows the best places to dine and visit. The apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed. A large grocery store is a 5-minute drive. This is a refuge and a great landing spot from which to explore surrounding hill towns like Modica and Ragusa.
