Had a delicious meal at the Copshaw Kitchen. We were staying in the village for 2 nights and decided after our starters we would come back the next evening. The host was lovely and there was a really relaxed feel to the restaurant. There was a great selection of ginâs that I made sure I sampled. Highly recommended.

Somewhat off the beaten track, but across the road from the Black Cock Inn, which is a well known pub in the area. Nice open room with the food counter at the back. Scones were great, and the cakes fresh and tasty. Coffee was about average. Carparking is down hill from the Tearooms; mobility-impaired people would be best dropped off first, to enter via the front door.

We re-visited the Pheasant Inn after several years, we had pleasant memories of excellent food and were not disappointed. From the friendly welcome to the cosy atmosphere, this place is a little gem. As for the food, it is definitely not just pub food - the quality is restaurant standard. We both chose the Northumberland lamb, which is probably the best lamb I have ever tasted. Accompanied by a delicious sauce ans perfectly cooked vegetables, we could not resist a dessert too.

A nice place to stop if cycling in the area , however we visited twice and had two very different experiences. On our first visit the bacon roles and hot drinks were quickly delivered and we enjoyed watching the many variety`s of birds feeding at the bird table our second visit was not so good we ordered some jacket potatoes and coffee`s. The drinks were swift but had to wait 30 minutes for the jacket potatoes even though there was only four other people in the restaurant. The waitress did apologise and admitted to forgetting about us !!! something we would of accepted if they had been busy but sadly the place was very quiet.

We visited The Boat Inn, before attending the Bird of Prey Centre, and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The staff were really helpful and friendly and we found the place to be a real gem as it suited our six year old down to the ground as there is a,playground which he was most unwilling to leave. We had to return as he loved the place, and we found the food and drink most pleasant
