Went to the steak and gourmet burger night , a first I think as usually have tapas or themed nights. Ordered a steak and was not disappointed, perfectly cooked and with excellent accompaniments, dessert was a trio of sweets and the cheese option was a good balanced selection. Wasnât sure what to expect but would certainly go for this again. Service and atmosphere where as always excellent, nothing is too much trouble for the ladies!!

I came here for lunch one day during the week. I decided to go for the crispy chicken strips with sweet chilli sauce. I asked for the dish to come without peas. Unfortunately it still came with peas, but I didnât mind - I just donât like them, Iâm not allergic or anything. The café is light and airy and there are plenty of tables. There are plenty of choices available on the menu, some come as small portions if you wish. The prices are reasonable and the majority of the food seems to be home made.

Arrived in Wigton at lunchtime hoping for a nice pub and a light lunch, depressingly nothing looked even vaguely promising so we asked a local who pointed us at the Barista. It is tucked away up the side of the library but is certainly worth seeking out. It was quite busy and we enjoyed soup and rolls plus 2 glasses of decent red in a nice atmosphere with friendly service. Lots of other dishes at adjoining tables looked really appetizing.

This cafe is a hidden gem. We regularly have coffee and the homemade scones are delicious. The lunch menu is fairly extensive and very good value for money.

You won't find a fine dining experience in the typical sense, but you will find beautiful home-made cakes, pies and dinners. Friendly staff and the best tatie-pot in Cumbria.
