This is not a pub but more a restaurant. Very little interest shown if a customer just wants drinks. The beer was expensive and my husband was overcharged by £1.15 for a simple order of a pint and a half. This was refunded but not very readily and with barely an apology. We will not return.

George and Dragon

Reviewed By Eileen H

We've eaten at the George and Dragon many times before but never again. Visited yesterday and there were plenty of vacant tables inside the pub but when I ordered fish and chips I was told there was no fish. Before I had chance to order an alternative the barman told me he wasn't taking any more orders and told me to come back in five minutes at which point he walked away and left the bar unattended. Now we were in a pub and not even able to order a drink. My husband and I decided to leave and were putting on our coats when a barmaid arrived behind the bar and a customer who was sitting at the bar told her that the barman had refused to take our order. She told us quite abruptly that they only had one chef in the kitchen. She did then say she was sorry as we were leaving but that's not good enough. They obviously can't cope when the weather is good as most diners were outside in the beer garden. It's a shame the usual friendly staff are no longer there, replaced by rude staff with no idea about customer service.

I went here with family and the food was delish - its tapas style and plenty of options, the food was fast and hot and really tasty. The staff were great, attentive but not pushy and it was nice and clean and calm. If you go check out the picture in the ladies toilet - it gave my auntie a laugh :)

We visited this bar after hearing some fabulous music coming from it the previous evening. The place is beautifully furnished and plays mellow, relaxing music. The staff are very friendly and the choice of drinks is extensive even if you're not a cocktail lover. We also enjoyed a delicious meat and cheese platter for two which was very reasonably priced. Recommended.

We called in one lunch time after travelling from Deganwy Station to Blaenau Ffestiniog to see the scenery and returning. The 'Hop on hop off' sightseeing bus also passes by. The menu offers a good choice and the food was well cooked (hake with leeks and chorizo and haddock risotto). Dessert was a brilliant citrus cheesecake and berry compote. Service was efficient and friendly. Would definitely go again.

We stopped here for lunch and came out somewhat disappointed.. We found that the lunch menu was a little limited. There were few vegetarian options and there were only four choices of sandwiches. There were no paninis or baguettes. We both chose the soup of the day to start which was spinach. It was not very warm and needed more seasoning. My husband had the burger with chips which he said was ok but not the best he has eaten by a long way. i struggled to find something which appealed as I wanted only a light lunch so i chose the duck spring rolls from the starters as a main.. They were very tasty. All in all it was an average lunch and i don't think we will be rushing back. The service was very friendly and the staff were attentive, however it was very very quiet. Also we thought that the prices were a tad high compared with, say, a Brunning and Price pub.Hi Denise T,Thank you for leaving us a review about your recent visit. We apologise for your recent experience, this is not up to our usual standards. We will take all of your comments on board regarding the limited menu, we are soon launching our new winter menu so we would love it if you would return to check this out. Throughout the autumn period we have gone quieter. We are glad you found our staff attentive and friendly. We would like to welcome you back in the near future.

This restaurant, although i doesnt have the feels of a top quality restaurant, with its very spacious setting with a pool table, and bar in the centre, and very big windows, you almost feel like you are in a fish bowl. But......... the staff are very friendly, very accomodating of children as they have there own their too, but most of all the food! Wow!!! I have had numerous dishes and can't fault any! The portion sizes are absolutely huge!! The roast dinner is one of the best i have had in the Llandudno and Conwy area. Very busy little restaurant, very popular. Would definately reccomend. A group of seven of us dined here on a Saturday evening. The food and service were good but the noise level was horrendous from a table of about fifteen nearby and we could barely hear ourselves think, let alone talk. This spoiled what may have been a very good evening. The menu is quite interesting and there is a good wine selection, all at reasonable prices. I had the mackerel starter, which was excellent, followed by a delicious roast pork shoulder. Unfortunately, the taste of the pork was somewhat overpowered by the accompanying cassoulet with chorizo. What is wrong with the taste of pork that it needs to be overpowered? My apple crumble dessert was excellent. Others in our party all enjoyed their meals. Décor is standard pub, but is quite spacious.
