Feel sorry for the locals

There is nothing wrong with this pub in it's decor or with it's staff, management or owners. The problem lies with the vermin who fill the "Affordable homes" in the area. Our visit was spoiled by two drunken ladies celebrating a birthday, nothing wrong with that in it'self but the birthday girl had four children with her all under ten who were constantly told by her to fork off and also her partner/husband who phoned to ask where the kids were at 10pm at night was also told where to go rather loudly. Get rid of the vermin like this and your pub will again fit in with the area People don't pay near on a million pounds for a home to drink with uncaring foul mouthed parents.

Appalling and dangerous

Reviewed By LorraineM2167

My room was very grubby. Thankfully I carry a steriliser spray. I used half a bottle of it cleaned the toilet, shower, front door, surfaces. It smelled. I opened the window which was tiny and was attacked by flies which I discovered were all on the outside wall like a nest. The manager was not at all bothered and said he would spray them later. The fire exit rail is broken. They are charging full price even though they no longer serve food. It says on the website there’s a fridge and microwave but there was not. You couldn’t close the bathroom door if you were inside as the floor surface was only fitting half a shower mat the slid into the bedroom soon as you put your foot on it. Worst two dangerous nights I have ever had and £106 for the pleasure. When I went for a walk I had a fall and was found by police. I was telling them about where I was staying. Even they said it would of been the best clean it had ever had!

2 poor nights sleep. Uncomfortable mattress. Broken spring in mattress. Room was dishevelled and grubby.

Reviewed By joloLincoln

We have stayed at Premier Inn Twickenham East several times in the past without issue. Apart from the lovely, efficient receptionists Phil and Debbie our stay disappointingly fell well below the usual standard of Premiere Inn. We arrived at the hotel very tired and quite late. After we were both ready for bed it became evident that there was only one spare pillow in the room. With no phone in reception and the internet in the hotel not working we were too tired to get dressed to go to reception to get another pillow. Despite both of us being very tired neither of us had a good nights sleep. The mattress was far from comfortable. We had already been to reception to obtain a second towel and coffee, sugar and milk. We obtained another pillow the following day. Our second nights sleep was no better than the first. We both had a second uncomfortable nights sleep and woke up with lower lumber pain - where neither of us don’t usually suffer pain. The issue pertaining to our poor 2 nights sleep became apparent when as my husband was getting out of bed he felt a sharp scratch on the back of his right thigh. We were astonished and annoyed to see a sharp broken spring protruding from the side of the mattress as in the photos. My husband wrote spring on it. It caused a superficial scratch to the back of his thigh. As soon as possible we reported the mattress to Debbie at reception who was dismayed to see the photographs and apologised profusely. In addition to the broken, dangerous uncomfortable mattress, lack of spare pillows the room felt grubby and looked tired. Coffee/tea etc had not been replenished. There was only 1 bath towel in the room. I have complained by email with photo graphic evidence attached to Premier Inn and requested a full refund under their “a good nights sleep guarantee” but to date have had no response.

Leaking Toilet

Reviewed By Flyer17883669515

We had a leaking toilet upon arrival and there were no available rooms to be moved to. As a result, we had to place towels around the toilet to soak up the leak and make use of a toilet in our children’s room. There was no appetite to call out a plumber to fix the issue and we were directed to contact guest relations after our stay. Totally unacceptable from a respectable hotel chain.

Loved it! Two happy months in the garden suite

Reviewed By yogajaxx

I spent a happy two months in the lovely Garden Suite in summer 2021, when I was between properties. Top accommodation and top service. It’s a lovely flat in a big characterful Victorian house with the rare bonus of a beautiful mature garden. The owner Ali and housekeeper Magda are a pleasure to deal with and do all they can to make your stay happy and comfortable. They care about the house and the guests, and it shows – this is definitely not corporate and impersonal. The decor is neutral and tasteful with design touches that show it’s been thought about. It’s all immaculately clean and fresh, and the weekly clean by Magda is first-class. Full kitchen with washer/dryer, oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, lots of cupboard space and everything you need, with space for your own things if you’re long-term and have your own stuff with you. The living room has double doors to the patio, which is private to this flat. I would sit at the table and WFH with a view of the garden, and step outside whenever I wanted a break, to feel the sunshine, stand under the trees and listen to the birds. I often had my meals on the patio or did morning yoga there when it was warm enough. The lawn area is for use by all guests and some would bring their dogs out for a runaround (the house is pet friendly), but mostly it’s almost like your own garden. This was such a massive plus to my stay. Book the Garden Suite if you can! Bathroom is completely tiled and feels luxe, with an excellent shower and good space for toiletries around and under the basin (which some places lack and is very annoying – women need space for our products!). The bedroom looks out to the garden and is peaceful; no neighbour noise and quiet at night for sleeping. There’s a wardrobe with hanging space, shelves and drawers, and a console table for toiletries – so again, good space for a long-term stay. You can settle in, spread your things out and be as comfy as at home. Hallway for coats and shoes. Keypad entry, so I always felt secure. Wooden floors, with carpet in the bedroom. The road is very quiet, and the house is on the side away from the main road, yet it’s only three minutes walk to St Margarets station, which goes to Waterloo. Richmond is a short bus ride or 20-minute walk, and is a nice town with all amenities including Wholefoods, Waitrose, Ole & Steen bakery and plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and pubs, including some right on the river. Bhuti is a very nice yoga studio and therapy rooms. There are also a few handy shops, cafés, dentist, osteopath, a pub and a post office in St Margarets itself. The river is 12 minutes walk away, across Marble Hill Park, and it’s a particularly lovely green and scenic part. Lots of trees, many different birds and ducks, boats, kayakers, paddle boarders and walkers. I went for many lunchtime and weekend long walks along there. Richmond Park is not far. The surrounding streets, with their beautiful Victorian homes, are a pleasure to stroll around too (dreaming of being able to afford them!). 20 The Barons is a home away from home and I would happily stay in the Garden Suite again – I often wish I was still there!
