Lovely restaurant, very friendly staff. The owner speaks English. Their meat dishes are amazing. First night had the posta de vitela which was delicious. The second night we had the lamb dish that was recommended. I dont think you would get any better quality of meat in a 5 star restaurant. Their house wine was good too. It may be the only restsurant in the town but no one else could compete if there were others. There were many locals eating there too which is always a good sign.

You'll be hard pressed to find a better view in the region for such great value. Excellent fried fish and top-notch pork filets, but the crown jewel of Preguiça really is the fish soup. Decent house wine. Did I mention it's great value? Reachable by boat.

This place is really at the end of the road and there is no reason to go there unless you are going to the restaurant or catching the train. There aren't even any buildings except the train station, a winery and the Bago d'Ouro.
It seems the restaurant is doing something right because it's always got a crowd and of course Sundays are to the top. Maybe the best way to get to this place is to take the train. If you time it right you will have time for a great meal as well as catch the return train.

Excellent regional appetisers and incredibly tender and thick beefsteak ,which is made from the Vaca barrosa cows.You must try the fresh cottage cheese and pumpkin jam as a dessert. Also there is a small shop nearby selling the regional products served in the restaurant, like pumpkin jam,olive oil and wine.
The atmosphere is also very nice and friendly. And the prices very good. And you can see the beautiful church in front of the restaurant.

If you pretend to enjoy a coffee or to eat a light meal you are in the right place! The staff is incredible and the quality of the products excellent. Most things you can eat there are home made, which is very rare! The place is quiet and very comfortable, nice to chill and enjoy a drink!

This is a fine restaurant inside a world class museum with corner wall to wall, floor to ceiling glass windows affording a view of the beautiful Coa River where it flows into the Douro River. The food is excellent and the service is gracious. Do not miss it!

If you are going to Douro Superior and you need a place to eat and taste the flavours of a region this is a good place to go. And the best of all is the price. Food made in tradional ovens, local meat or fish, Douro Wine and a cozy ambiance so you can feel home. This is like home food.
Only two objections. There's not a fixed Card and sometimes is better to confirm your place with a Reservations. It's usually full.
Some specialities like Posta à Abade, Bacalhau à Abade, Borego e Cabrito Assado no Forno, Peixe do Rio Sabor no Forno and you can even ask a recepie you desire.

We went to this restaurant for dinner and launch. Dinner was our first meal at Artur and everybody was very happy with the service and friendly (welcome) environment. Food was excellent and very well prepared! Posta is one of the best dishes! Very good meet and very well prepared. Congratulations to the chef!
We repeat and went there for lunch. It was very busy but the chef was the same. Excellent!,
