In this 9-hour tour from Lisbon you will be driven south in comfort across the iconic 25th of April bridge through beautiful landscapes towards The Alentejo, Portugal’s largest region and maybe the wildest. A region lined by a rugged coast to the west and filled with farmland, cork oaks, vineyards, olive groves, and other crops and livestock.. You will explore Évora. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Évora is known as a “city-museum” filled with culturally significant landmarks and it is marked with a notable history. It is also the Alentejo’s regional capital and largest city. After visiting the main attractions of Evora, you will visit a wine producing estate where you will have lunch and a wine tasting. Then it is time to see how cork is extracted and produced before heading to another estate where one of Portugal most famous brand of olive oil is produced. Time for a tasting, of course, before heading back to Lisbon revitalised.

Inclusions: Olive oil tasting, Driver/guide, Hotel pickup and drop-off, Guaranteed to skip the long lines, Live commentary on board, Wine tasting on the private tour

Exclusions: Gratuities, Food and drinks, Admission to attractions

We had a lovely visit to Fatima, Nazaré and Óbidos and it was especially made special by our zany yet most interesting guide Andre Feldman. Andre was a character and he could have easily passed off as a New York City cab driver with his unpolitically correct jibes and comments, although always done with humour and sensitivity so as not not to cause offence to anyone. He would be best described as a ‘could be’ and not a wannabe Nee Yorker. The trip was enjoyable on a wet rainy day because of his positive attitude and his constant narratives of deep knowledge of the places we visited. He could rattle off facts and figures and shared his intimate knowledge and folklore surrounding the places we visited. He was balanced in his approach to everyone I. Our group and Andre engaged sensitively with those like Me who wanted to chat and left a you g couple very much alone to enjoy the places on their own. Fatima was inspiring and I was blessed to be able to attend part of the mass service. The basilica in Nazaré was awe inspiring and spiritual and the visit was nicely topped up with a visit to a medieval village called Óbidos. Overall a trip that anyone must make regardless of the weather and especially if they have Andre for their guide. Obrigado Andre for a wonderful experience.
