A very museum in an attractive town, the Chiltern Athenaeum contains a marvellous selection of books from the old library, as well as mementoes of the past. These include the desk of the great writer Henry Handel Richardson, accounts of people like the politician John McEwen, and other notable citizens. Very friendly and helpful staff too. Don't miss the plaques out the front either.
