Calvillo (Spanish (help·info)) is a city in the Mexican state of Aguascalientes. The town serves as the municipal seat of the surrounding municipality of Calvillo. Calvillo is the second most populated city in the state, surpassed in importance only by the capital city. It is located about 52 kilometers from the city of Aguascalientes. It stands at 21°51′N 102°43′W / 21.850°N 102.717°W / 21.850; -102.717 in the southwestern corner of the state.

The Spa is about an hour from Aguascalientes, in the remote high desert. It features saunas for 2 to 10 people, and a variety of pampering services. My 5-hour full-service experience included an exfoliating scrub, a full-body clay pack, a sauna with a refreshing cold shower attached, and finally a massage. Definitely worth the very reasonable price!
The spa primarily serves local residents, and is not specifically targeted to foreign visitors, but everyone was very welcoming. They recommend bringing a swimsuit, towel and sandals. I'd add that the swimsuit should be bikini style for the ladies so the scrub and clay pack can get on your back and tummy. And the sandals are best if water-tolerant. And be sure to bring your regular clothes, as you'll want to change after the sauna.
Overall, a very relaxing, peaceful, pampering place, worth the trip!

I love guayabas, love them starting from the smell and this is the place where you will find orchards with trees full of guayabas during the Aug-Sep month. As your getting close the smell is so strong but lovely. The city is very nice also, the food. Nice place to go.

On daylight saving time the park still decides to close when there are plenty of people and bright light. What is the point of it if business like this still closes at the same time? It was during vacations for local people therefore more reasons to extend the service hours. They said personal can't stay for another hour or so. Why not Hire a second shift or something? Plus the ticket says stays open till 7 pm and they where asking people to leave at 5:30 pm.
if we wanted to be at the pool only after 8 pm if we rented a cabin they said. There are people who prefer to swim when the sun does not hit you with huge skin cancer doses.
Not worth the trip. If they don't change this mind set.

If you visit Calvillo, take the time to visit the dam and lake...just a short drive beyond the dam, a couple of restaurants...we stopped at puente de trigo...the shrimp bathed in a guava sauce was amazing, the staff, including owner very welcoming!

If you came out here to Calvillo since it’s a “Magical Town”, this Guayaba candy factory is probably the best attraction to attend. I arrived in the Tour bus (bus located central park next to cathedral) wish they only offer 5 different attraction, and this factory being one of them. What you get, a 10min drive, story of the factory, town and people and also get to try a lot of different variety candy wish is all very good, at the end you get to purchase if you like. I definitely bought a lot of candy at a very low cost in ratio of quality. (For your information… please skip the rock/crystal destination it’s a waste of time, it’s a house-shop and not worthy of a Magical Town)

El lugar no es de los mejores de Calvillo, es una cantina como las de antes, solo que ya permiten la entrada a mujeres, la higiene no es muy buena, la bebida más común para pedir es una bomba, que como su nombre lo dice lleva un poco de todo, es popular pero no quiere decir que sea muy buena, pero no te puedes ir sin probarla lo que recomiendo es comprarla e irte a la presa de mal paso donde siempre hay gente haciendo lo mismo.
