Ringwood Brewery

We went on a 6.30pm tour with Vincent and John and we were made very welcome. John was very informative about the history of Ringwood and instantly gave everyone a half pint of their excellent beer and then Vincent took us on a tour of the building, talking us through the brewing process. As my husband is a keen beer drinker we have been on several of these tours, but this was the best. It was explained step by step and we learnt a lot. We especially enjoyed tasting the barley in various stages and looking at the barrel process. After our tour we went back to John in the pub who talked through the different beers and generously handed out more to taste. I also had a go at pulling a pint. We are a varied group from 17 to 73 and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit. At the end we were given our Ringwood glasses and a bottle of their tasty beer. After the tour we were given time to buy anything from the shop. John and Vincent were both knowledgeable and friendly and we didn't feel rushed at all, it felt like a nice evening at the local pub!!

(22/9/20) Two bikes hired for the day. Excellent service at the shop, with a lot of care and attention given even though they were busy. Very friendly. Easy to register and pay (you will need to hand in some ID). Pump, lock provided and also the added security that they would be able to come out if there was a problem en route. There are copies of routes available with plenty of variation in distance and terrain/surface. We opted for the Villages, Views and Vales (tarmac on quiet country lanes, mainly) in the morning and the Deer Sanctuary (+New Forest Inn detour) in the afternoon. This second route had more gravel and steeper inclines. We also had a Garmin route guide on the handlebars and this worked well until we took a detour towards the New Forest Inn --- it did re-calibrate later on. If you are unfamiliar with the paths and roads, this instruments eliminates the need to constantly stop for map reading and worth the expense (£10 hire). Overall a highly recommended day out and benefitting from the bikes and support provided by Forest Leisure Cycling. In fact, for our next trip we will hire bikes from them rather than taking our own on the back of the car.

My 3 teenage children, my wife and I enjoyed a 1 hour hack through the beautiful forestland ably guided by Cassidy and Asher. The horses were all in amazing condition which added to the overall experience. Our experience from the time we arrived at Bagnum to the time we left was so enjoyable. The staff were very attentive and ensured all of the family knew exactly what we needed to do despite us all having some riding experience. The hack itself was very enjoyable with a mix of walking and trotting through tracks and on road. We felt totally reassured by our two guides throughout. Thank you Bagnum Equestrian Centre for such a great time. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Hands down, one of our favourite places to visit. So much to do, the parking is still cheaper than you would pay for entrance for a family at other venues with less beauty and less to do. We have the young children and have been regular visitors to moors valley for years. In April 2019it cost us £11 to park the car for over four hours. But included in that price was so much. And it gets improved throughout every year. Our youngest daughter loved the Gruffalo carved characters and the Zog trail. All three kids, as usual, were in their element having fun walking through the forest play trail, playing on all the one of a kind play structures skillfully made out of wood. The forest itself is beautiful and such an amazing setting. With energy to spare, the kids also love the excellent play parks, suitable for all ages and we all loved the mini steam train, taking us through tunnels, over bridges and along the surprisingly long track. Aa return visitors here's our top tips: 1.take your own lunch. There's plenty of picnic tables around the grounds. Avoid the green field near the play park as it can get busy and there are more scenic picnic tables elsewhere dotted around the site. 2.Arrive early, especially on Bank Holidays and school holidays. The car park can get full surprisingly quickly... We (and hundreds of other cars) have been turned away at the gates as early as 11am on some days, simply because the car park is at capacity. 3.there are no bins in the grounds, you have to bring your rubbish away with you, so if bringing your lunch, a small backpack should be fine to stuff your rubbish in when you're done. 4.dogs are allowed on leads but we don't take our lab to be honest because it feels like a bit of a tease walking around and not being able to let him off. 5.the train is excellent and worth every penny. It is extra and not free as part of the parking cost. Tickets can be bought on card and it's not cash-only like it used to be. 6.if you have a toddler, consider taking a buggy that's good off road. Sounds obvious, but the play trail through the forest is a long way for a little pair of legs.

I fear heights so I had to wait until my grand daughter was 6 years old and she could Go Ape on her own. ( the 5 year old, just the minimum 1 m tall will have to wait a year as she has to be accompanied????) Supervising adults have to stay on hand. We booked easily on line and chose the 10 am slot to be first in the day . £18 for a good hour slot. Parking max is £10 for 4 hours. WiFi is a Council run site in the cafe. My grand daughter loved it and was fearless- managing an amazing 7 circuits in the time. You are clipped on so have to stay in order and therefore may go at the pace of the slowness, although there are 2 routes Both end in a zip wire. We re booked for a 2 nd outing today and it was equally great although off to a slow start while all the climbers were put into harness. It was a little chilly for watchers as the trees give shade from the weak sun. Warm up in the cafe or the 2 playgrounds afterwards... Staff friendly and enthusiastic.???? We have just done the return at Easter 2019 and the now 6 year old, just over 1 m had her 1 st Go Ape experience as part of her birthday presents. We booked the later 4 pm slot so their mummy could drive down from Somerset to watch too. The staff are really super- really professional and welcoming and very safety conscious. There was some hold ups particularly waiting for the zip wire but they kindly gave us an extra 15 minutes so the 6 and 7 year old grand daughters managed 6 circuits. We were told that coming soon will be a new addition joining the Junior Circuit with the adult zip wire ( being built by a French company where the Go Ape concept originated) Thank you for making this experience really special???? ( and I bought the £3 Go Ape medal to add to their fitness/ exercise collection). We will return!
