It’s a short trek to the rocky top but it totally pays off. There are lots of the castle ruins to explore plus 360 gorgeous views in several spots. Take water and a snack. It was really windy at the top so not the best for a full on picnic. There is an entrance fee, but we thought it was worth it.

When I visited you didn't have to pay to park. I believe it's €6 in the Summer. A short walk brings you out to the mini waterfall on the River Cèze which then makes its way through stunning rock formations. You can walk over these and get right down to the water in places. Further down there's a small pebbly beach. Apparently in Summer this is a very popular spot for picnics and swimming. Off season it's a beautiful, calming place to visit.
