Reviewed By Iain Neal JAfter looking through dozens of places to stay on Koh Jum we settled for a one bedroom beach villa at the Koh Jum Beach Villa resort. We asked for a private transfer as it was our first time there. Very well organized. We arrived at the resort to be welcomed by the operations manager David. After checking in we were shown to the Villa. We were speechless. The Villa had everything we wanted and more. A nice plunge pool with jacuzzi with clear views of the ocean and a ten second walk to the beach. Everything in the Villa and around it was spotless. An amazing bed with a very comfortable mattress. The bar and restaurant are both super relaxing. Cocktails in the bar are fantastic. Then there is the food!!! I can honestly say that I’ve never had such high quality food served so consistently. Specials everyday also. It is fine dining quality food but with big portions. We ventured out now and again but felt the resort catered for everything we needed so spent most of our time there. Finally the staff. All the staff were extremely polite and attentive. Of all the staff we spoke to all had a good grasp of the English language. David the operations manager was extremely helpful throughout our stay. A must visit resort and worth every penny. Thank you ?

Reviewed By dolphin_jayStaying at thé koh Jum Resort was an exquisite pleasure, feeding thé soul. There is no thing to do: just be. This is its charm, it’s unique quality. The staff were wonderful : warm and helpful at all times, especially supportive of my health needs. I do not remember all their names. Mr Tum and Miss Lilly on thé dining side, and housekeeping and technical staff were great. A special mention must go to thé general manager Mr Koh. Mr. Koh took personal care of me from beginning to end. He was attentive and assisted me in many ways. This included organising thé transport for me to arrive here safely : thé island is not at all well known amongst Thai locals in surrounding areas such as Phuket. Without Mr. Ko’s help I could not have got there. I truly felt looked after and cared for by him and his staff. The food was great. The sunsets are stupendous. Thé wooden bungalows have rustic charm and sunken baths, which I enjoyed so much. They all look out onto thé sea and secluded bay. If you do feel thé need to ´do’ stuff, snorkelling trips to Phi Phi can be arranged, and nearby you can hire kayaks. You can take a tour around thé island, renting bicycles if needed. However thé deepest pleasure is to let go, chill and just ‘be’: let your soul breathe. ?❤️

Reviewed By LynneP602Friendly is just that, super friendly. Amazing hosts, fabulous bungalow, beautiful gardens and a few minutes to the beach. With FU Bar just along the beach for an excellent evening of cocktails life couldn't get any better ? Friendly's restaurant definitely serves some of the best food in Thailand so 10/10 all round. Can't wait to come back

Lovely place but.........
Reviewed By 14debbienStayed at Oon Lee Bungalows for 3 night. The resort itself was lovely, set up on the hill with the bungalows in the front with sea views and the back ones with garden views. They have a resturant which serves both French and Thai foods. As an FYI they do take credit cards. To get to the resort the ferry comes in and is met by long boats which you than transfer with your luggage to the boats (on the water) and are taken to the resort. For people who are thinking of staying you must have a moderate level of fitness, as you have to climb to and from the boat, you have to climb up to the resturant first to check in and than depending on where you are staying either back down or up to get to your bungalows. The part that was frustrating for us and was never really expressed in reviews was how far away it is from everything. If you are there just to stay at the resort and not explore it's lovely, but to really explore the area you need to rent a motorbike, however the road from the resort is a dirt road with pot holes and very uneven surfaces so you have to be able to ride with a certain amount of comfort. Please consider the rainy season and night time as well. To reach the first bit of paved roads you could google map the stone bar which is situated next to the paved part. Renting motorbikes was an event, please be very careful as they do not offer insurance and may charge you for damage that you didn't even do which happened to us.

Such a great chilled place
Reviewed By OntheSpectrumBack after 2 years. 1000 baht for an AC room with a sea view. Lovely staff, they'll bring food and drinks to your room and on the beach. Sea is lovely. Little challenging for a few days when the low tide is during the day. But you only have to walk a few mins either way to find better swimming. The piped music is mind numbing and needs to go :-) beds are very firm. Still love the place. Done it twice now. Highly recommended.

Excellent food BUT no quality check in bungalows
Reviewed By Pascale RCould not take a shower for 2 days... no water at shower and had to complain many times before problem would be solved. Breakfast are excellent and dinner food in general. Staff smiling and helpful most of the time. Manager can be pretty rude and obsequious. Arrival was very hectic - being solo why should a boat be sent? - and explanations and complaints were not properly heard... Had to wait over 2 hours before a taxi was sent to pick me up...

Genau das Richtige wenn man Thailand von der besten Seite kennen lernen möchte. Ich war begeistert - kann es nur empfehlen - gerne wieder !

Super Strandabschnitt - Preis Leistung stimmt nicht
Reviewed By angis111Keine Frage. DAS FREEDA Resort hat einen tollen Strand. Doch wenn man für einen Bungi knapp 70 Euro pro Nacht ohne Frühstück bezahlt, erwarte ich schon das eine oder andere Annehmlichkeitchen. Doch das gab es nicht. Wenig Abstellfläche im bungi für Gepäck. Keinerlei Möglichkeit irgendetwas im Zimmer oder Bad aufzuhängen. Auch auf der grossen Terrasse kann man nur das Geländer zum trocknen aller Sachen benutzen. Wir waren 3 Nächte. Kein Handtuch Wechsel, kein Toilettenpapier Nachschub, auf der Terrasse keine Möglichkeit zum gemütlichen chillen. Es gibt 2 Plastik Stühle und einen Plastik Tisch. Aber keine Hängematte, Oder die bekannten dreieckskissen. Auch am Strand nichts zum liegen. Lediglich eine grosse Liegeschaukel und eine Liege Fläche neben der Bar. Die Preise sind natürlich auf einer Insel immer etwas höher, doch hier waren sie sehr hoch. Wir mussten, weil das FREEDA kein eigenes Longboat besitzt, von dem Wechsel auf dem Meer zum longboat, für eine Fahrt von ca. 4 Minuten umgerechnet ca. 6,60 Euro zahlen. Das grenzt schon an Wucher. Für 2 kleine Müsli von denen wir nicht satt wurden, 2 cappuccinos und ein espresso mit Milch haben wir umgerechnet knapp 15 Euro bezahlt. Also ungefähr Deutschland Preise. Auch das essen war teuer. Wir haben lokale gefunden bei denen wir gutes thai essen zu Thai Preisen bekommen haben. Der absolute Trumpf vom freeda resort liegt darin, dass es aufgrund der Ebbe und Flut den besten Strandabschnitt hat, bei dem man auch bei Tiefstand noch schön, ohne Felsen baden kann. Wir hatten mit dem Roller eine Reufenpanne. Hier wurde nach guter Thai Manier problemlos geholfen. Insgesamt ist das Personal nicht besonders herzlich. Das kennen wir von anderen Inseln und resorts anders. Sie haben alle Wünsche erfüllt, waren Aber dem Preis entsprechend einfach nicht aufmerksam genug.Alles in allem würden wir hier keine Empfehlung aussprechen. Würde der Bungi 40 Euro die Nacht kosten, gäbe es keinen Grund zur Klage. Dann würde die Leistung zum Preis passen.
