Cooking with Ann in her kitchen was a lovely experience. I've done a number of cooking lessons in the past and most classes comes with a preset menu of dishes. What stands out with Ann's classes is having the flexibility of picking the dishes you would like to learn/cook. Of course it's a no brainer that I would want learn Northern Thai dishes! ???? Ann is friendly, patient and knowledgeable throughout the class. What's included in the session is that you get to learn to cook 4 Thai dishes of your choice, a trip to the local market to select the ingredients for the dishes you'll be making and a round-trip transportation from your hotel to Ann's place. The recipes of the dishes you learned will be sent via email after your session.

Me and my girlfriend took the half-day cooking class, which was going something like this: - We were picked up at our Hostel and met the other cooking classmates. We then directly decided on what the menu should look like, which was an easy process as we were deciding one dish each more or less in the subgroups (we were a total of 5 people and 3 subgroups). Therefore, decide on what you would like to cook on before hand and make sure that at least one of your desired dishes will be made. - Then we went directly to the market to buy the groceries for the dishes, but as well was offered to taste some different appetizers at the market stalls like sticky rice, rice pancake, coffee/tea and sausage. Jaruwan were very easy to talk to and could answer any question we had regarding what the different things at the market were. - After having bought all the ingredients, we went to the Cooking School to begin the cooking class, but were first given a delightful drink made from a flower we saw on the market and ate some awesome pineapple. - Then we got introduced to the house and all the different places to cook and eat the food. So first we made the curry paste and then started doing the different dishes. Once we were finished we ate it and so it went past. - What struck us was how smoothly the prepared each room for us to have an as delightful cooking class as we could ever imagined to have. - The food became amazing and was as reviewers previously mentioned, very easy to make which was fascinating and a good leason to bring home with you: If you know what makes the basics of Thai Food then it is easy. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for this experience and for the lessons we learnt, now we are eager to get home to wow our friends with our new thai cooking skills! Thank you everyone at Akha Kitchen for a lovely day!

We have amazing time with Naree's family. She picked us from our hostel and we went for a short walk to the fresh market outside the city. She answered all our questions and bought a lot of ingredients for our cooking class. Then we went to Neree's house and started cooking. Her husband and daughter were assisting and spending time with us. We have cooked delicious Tom Yam soup, spicy meat with sticky rice, bannana dessert and some kind fried thai vegetable. Everything was delicious. After the dinner we were taken back home. Naree also guided us where we can buy cheap stuff and kindly responded to any questions we had.
