Szigetvar Community and Cultural Centre

Reviewed By MarriedAnd-Over-50 - Mission, Canada

We saw the towers and we were a bit confused as what they were. I thought since they are made out of concrete and they do not seem to have a finishing on the concrete that they were an unfinished project. The towers stand out from the other buildings around them not only for their size and shape but also because of the raw concrete color. So when we parked the car properly we walked to see. Well it is the Community and Cultural Centre. It does not seem that one can walk inside the towers as there is a gate with a padlock on the bottom of each. When we walked inside the community centre it was a WOW. W were fascinated by the structure. Enjoy the phographs! It was great to be inside. We were not charged for visiting this place. We went to the lowest floor to ask since when we walked in there was nobody around. It is the public library and the ladies there invited us to explore.

Saint Nicholas Watermill and Treadmill

The watermill monument in Mohács is one of the few remaining mills where grinding is still performed by stones. Its collection of tools can be tried out and shows the evolution of grain processing from prehistoric to modern times. An extraordinary sight at the mill building is the treadmill machinery driven by human force that is unique in the whole world. Programs available: - presentation of the watermill during operation, - exhibition of milling history with tools and sacks, - presentation and trial of the treadmill, - visiting the lime kilt.
