I have just returned from a week in Norway with Chris of Aurora Addicts. From the moment we were collected from the airport to the time we returned, he looked after us with professionalism, humour and never ending enthusiasm.
Each day was spent experiencing the best activities available in the area - sometimes being the only group visiting- in fact it often seemed like we were the only people in northern Norway!
I will never forget the thrill of the night time Aurora chase - a safari following weather patterns and solar energy instead of animals.
I had not been prepared for the striking beauty of the area - dramatic Mountains and frozen ffords; all seeped in pastel shades of orange and blue. This beauty, together with the unpolluted silence, is a tonic for the senses- combined with the adrenalin fuelled activities provide an all round experience that will stay with me forever.....or till the next time!! Thank you Chris and thank you Norway.

We sat around the fire and learned about the Sami history and way of life. Lots of interesting information, given in a relaxed atmosphere. We then got to meet and feed some of the reindeer, one with huge antlers, then felt a little strange to have a delicious reindeer soup for lunch, but ultimately that is what they are bred for, and they are well looked after with a happy, free life. Inga is a great hostess and it was a very interesting first day of our Norway tour arranged by Aurora Addicts.

We visited "Akvakultur i Vesteralen" because we really like the Norwegian salmon and we wanted to learn something more about it.
If you recognize yourself in the sentence above, you should visit this place.
When we arrived, we were received really kindly. Then we were guided in the museum about "Salmon farming in Norway". Our guide took the time to tell about his own experiences and to answer all our questions. Normally there was a boat trip to the salmon farm, but unfortunately the boat trip was cancelled due to really bad weather...
The visit of the salmon farm was concluded with a tasting of smoked salmon and whale.
Absolutely recommendable!

We visited in late December with an organised group and had the most fantastic time. My husband and I are real dog lovers so was a great treat to meet all the huskies, including some younger pups (about 8 months old). Despite there not being much snow so we couldn't go out on the traditional sled Bjorn and Hilda still treated us to a great experience taking the dogs out on the road with an ATV. We got to be really hands on, helping the dogs into their harness and putting their little road socks on! The whole family were so friendly and their passion and love for the dogs really shone through. We were also treated to a nice warm soup which was greatly appreciated in the cold weather. Would definitely recommend.

The staff told us about a local walk we could do in the snow, although it was a lot harder than they advised and gave us a map to the start point. However it was worth it for the views and achievement - from Skibua to Turlagsstua. With no snow you could continue to Steiraheia. It took us 1.5 hrs up and 1 hr down for a 2 mile walk, but it was probably thigh deep snow!
