Although Bahrain is an Islamic country, alcohol is legal, and Manama has a thriving nightlife, with clubs and bars popular with visitors from all over the world. Good location

Reviewed By Chipilina3

The hotel is very old and not well maintained. The furniture in the rooms is really aged and the smell of the room was very bad. AC is very noisy. However, the room was spacious and it was clean and the hotel was quiet. The pool area is nice but you cannot access the beach that is right in front of the hotel. Service is extremely slow and the food quality is average. Breakfast is really bad and expensive. I found the hotel very expensive and I would not recommend it.

Fantastic holiday at the Lagoona Beach

Reviewed By akpat786

Lagoona Beach Resort & Spa, Budaiya, Bahrain. Dates: 31st May – 4th June 2022 The resort is located in Budaiya, on the western coast of Bahrain about 20-25 minutes from the airport. We had a family (4 people) holiday to Bahrain during the UK half term holiday. Pretty much everything about the resort was near perfect. We had booked a two bedroom apartment which has a lounge, kitchen and dining area. Each bedroom had an en-suite and there was also a separate toilet in the apartment. The pool was big and the beach was very clean. As the hotel wasn’t full, there was plenty of space on the beach but it may get crowded in peak season. There is also a water park in the resort with a outdoor restaurant and seating area so the parents can sit and relax while the kids play in the water. There are other water sports available, jet ski’s etc. Our package, booked with Trailfinders, included breakfast and this was excellent with a huge selection from the buffet each morning. Thursday and Friday were very busy as a lot of locals come there to use the facilities at the weekend. A few things to note: 1) There is quite a lot of construction going on around the hotel at the moment. However, during our stay, no work was actually being done. I’m guessing that work has been postponed for whatever reason but may start up again so it’s worth checking before you book if work has actually started and how much disruption this may cause. 2) The WiFi coverage was excellent, even in the pool and beach area. 3) As the hotel is quite far from the airport a lot of local taxi driver’s may not know it very well. Probably worth having the name and phone number written in Arabic so they know where to take you or arrange a transfer with your holiday package. 4) Check in time was 3pm and check out time was 12 noon. As our Gulf Air flight from Heathrow arrived and 7am, we had an 8 hour wait before checking into the hotel but we were lucky as we have a relative who we stayed with for a few hours before heading to the hotel. I think most flights from Europe, there aren’t many at the current time, arrive early morning so you may have to wait for hotel check in but I assume the hotel will let you use the facilities while you are waiting for your room to be made ready Overall this was a very relaxing holiday at an excellent resort.
