Dungarvan (Irish: Dún Garbhán, meaning "Garbhann's Fort") is a coastal town and harbour in County Waterford, on the south coast of Ireland. Prior to the merger of Waterford County Council with Waterford City Council in 2014, Dungarvan was the county town and administrative centre of County Waterford. Waterford City and County Council retains administrative offices in the town. The town's Irish name means "Garbhann's fort", referring to Saint Garbhann who founded a church there in the seventh century. The town lies on the N25 road (European route E30), which connects Cork, Waterford and Rosslare Europort.

I organized golf at Dungarvan Golf Club for last week and all 20 of our group were taken with the condition of the course. We have an equal number of high and single figure golfers and all found the course to be challenging but fair. We were looked after really well by the Professional David Hayes and his pro shop staff. After golf we all ate in the clubhouse and we had a great choice of food on the menu. A big thanks to the catering staff for the beautiful food and service. Lastly l must mention Irene for her professionalism in the way she dealt with the booking. We will definitely be back

The Waterford Greenway is a world-class, spectacular, 45km long off-road cycle track from Dungarvan to Waterford that follows the route of an old railway line. The length of the route is surrounded by an incredible natural landscape dotted with historical structures. Take the journey through time along this historical railway line, and visit the castles, parks, rivers and waterfalls on the way.

We rented bikes from this place in the beginning of April. The people at the shop were very nice. The bikes were perfect for riding on the Waterford Greenway. About half way to Waterford, we decided that we wanted to stop biking. We contacted the guy at the bike shop and he told us where to meet the shuttle that would bring both us and our bikes back to the shop. I had taken a little fall on my bike and a couple of parts on the bike were a little bent. The people at the bike shop were not at all concerned by this which was a relief. If you are in or near Dungarvan, I highly recommend biking the Waterford Greenway and renting bikes from Greenway Bike Rental.
