U can either stay at the ryukyu onsen senagajima hotel to enjoy this facility as it's at the ground level of the hotel or u can simply take the shuttle bus from One of the Yui rail station( check the hotel website for details) and walk in. Shoes are to be placed in a refundable 100 yen locker at the left side of the entrance. Walk down the corridor, there is a laundry room and outdoor designated smoking area. U will then reach the counter where u pay for entrance if u are a walk-in or just tell them your room number if u are a hotel guest. Handover your shoe locker keys and they will give u another locker key and 2 towels (1 big, 1 smaller towel). Proceed to the left of the counter and walk further in , u will see a male and female (either left or right) and an instruction board right at the middle. They will rotate the male and female onsen place on a daily basis . We stayed in the hotel for 1 night and experienced both sides of the onsen. We went in once when we checked in and another time before breakfast the next day. Find your locker and undress yourself. Only bring the locker key and the smaller towel with u. Proceed to the shower area and sit down to shower yourself . There is a stool at every shower station and a small plastic basin. Please place your towel and key in that basic and place it on top of your mirror. Confine yourself to shower within your space and it's rude to splash or use more than one shower area. Shampoo , conditioner and body wash is provided. After shower, proceed to use the small towel to dry yourself before u go to soak into the onsen tubs. For ladies with long hair please tie up so that the hair won't touch the onsen water. Towels are not allowed to touch the onsen water also. There are one indoor pool and a few outdoor pool and tubs. There is one pool with sea view abt 1.2 m deep . So just stand and watch the sea view while u soak yourself in the hot onsen spring . U can try different tubs and pool . Totally relaxed after the soaks. There is a sauna room and also a salt sauna room where there is a big tub of salt in the middle of the room and u just take some and apply all over your body, sit and relax for 5 mins then before u leave , just rinse yourself with the pail of water in the room . Overall a great experience u won't wanna miss

Shigira Ougon Onsen

Shigira Ougon Onsen (Natural Hot Spring) The natural hot spring on the seaside bubbles up from 1,250 meters underground, generating relaxing golden water that puts your body at ease and soothes your skin. In addition to the popular "bath with a view," which delivers a truly extraordinary place to soak, the resort also features open-air hot spring baths surrounded by gardens of charming flowers and a large "jungle pool" that adds a fun element to the traditional hot spring experience. If you want to go a step beyond into even more refined luxury, look no further than the special rooms with their own private open-air hot spring baths.
