Top 8 Hammams & Turkish Baths in London, England

June 15, 2021 Darleen Reid

The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

Indulge yourself in a 90* or 120-minute massage to help your body restore its natural balance and reach its peak. Why have my massages proven so effective? Pasha Spa Turkish Bath & Ottoman Hammam

`Hammam` in Ottoman translates into "Turkish Bath", which has a rich heritage and links back to `Thermea` in Roman Times. Turkish Baths have been a place for social gatherings, cleansing and relaxing rituals for many years - even for dignitaries in ancient societies. The rituals introduce the scrub mitt and foam massage, black soap and ghassoul mud and combine steam and warm temperatures for best results in full body purification, exfoliation and detoxification. They are the core of today's many spa treatments, providing the optimum humidity and heat environment for visitors with a wide range of health conditions.

Booked a spa treatment for two of us on a miserable February day. Onder and his team were very accommodating, from the time we weren't able to get the booking we wanted to then going out of his way to be able to fit us in. The welcome was warm and polite and then we were taken towards the back where an almost unexpectedly authentic hammam and bathing room were presented to us. Everything was relaxed and done in our own time. The treatments themselves felt authentic were fantastic, from the fantastic 'bubble massage' to the body scrub and the massage at the end. It was well worth the time and the very reasonable price. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. You might not expect to find such a place in a busy South London but don't let that put you off!

I treated my boyfriends Mother to a spa day so that we could have the opportunity to bond- anyone who has been in this position knows how PERFECT everything needs to go on a date like that! & I can honestly say, Queen Esther Spa never let me down!! So much so, that I had to submit my first trip advisor review. The Queen package is nothing short of amazing. From the sauna to the hamman experience in the steam room- it is hands down the best treatment I have ever received. The different stages of cleansing, exfoliating, massaging, moisturising was 10/10. The exfoliation is not too rough but is still fit for purpose. The masseuse applied the perfect pressure so you could really feel the stress leaving your body. Your body gets cleansed between each step with large buckets of warm water carefully poured over your body-the feeling is divine! You are regularly offered cups of cold water with a choice of lemon and you will really appreciate it spending all that time in the heat. The only constructive feedback I would give and I really am nitpicking is either using mint/menthol-free black soap just in case you're like me and accidentally rub your eyes with your black soap coated fingers! Alternatively, informing customers to bring some form of goggles would be good. It is an intimate environment/experience so I would highly recommend it for pairs, couples etc. I have already recommended this place to at least 15 people, just 3 days after my visit, and will continue to do so!

My boyfriend and I just had the most relaxing time at Casa Spa. It was heavenly! We were so well looked after, having plenty of time to enjoy the steam room, whilst having various body masks/mud scrubs . Then relaxing with fresh mint tea before enjoying an amazing massage (and I'm quite particular about pressure, it was perfect). So nice to be able to have all treatments together at the same time. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Thoroughly recommend!

I found this offer on groupon and booked it for myself and my 2 friend as we were looking for a spa break, as we had traveled from Birmingham and had a long day shopping in London we were really looking forward to a relaxing evening and we were not disappointed. We were the last customers of the day and when we arrived the hammam was very busy, the ladies had had a very busy day but they still treated us as we were the first customers of the day. Sue greeted us with a warm welcome. We had half an hour in the Jacuzzi which was lovely, it was peaceful and and the lighting had been turned down to create a calm atmosphere. The place was clean and warm as it was cold that day. Sue and Teresa made us feel very relaxed, they were really friendly which made the whole experience more enjoyable. The products they used smelt lovely and the full body massage, exfoliation and head massage was a great treat. I would defiantly recommend this place for an amazing treat with your friends as we loved it and our skin was silky smooth. Thank you Sue and Teresa for your hospitality, hope to see you again soon.
